Hi, I am a member on Uniform Dating and I have been contacted by a man claiming to be an american soldier in the US Army in Afghanistan. He has asked to meet me, but only if I buy him leave out of the army. Is this a scam and what can I do?

Hi Jessica, this is a scam.

Do stop all contact with him.

If you can, could you provide a link to his profile and some of his messages?

Please DO NOT tell the scammer he is posted here.

Here is the confirmation it is a scam. Soldiers do not buy leave, it is earned by time served, just like in any other job.

Also, the military do not communicate with proper husbands/wives of servicemen, let alone Internet penpals, which is how you would be viewed.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.
