very good care of it as we are not after the money , but want it to be clean and for you to take it as if it were yours.

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union, MoneyGram, pre-paid credit card or bank transfer with a promise that you can have the keys to a property that does not belong to him.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

All the details such as names, addresses, pictures etc. that the scammer uses in order to back up his story, are stolen from elsewhere.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

His phone number is still active. I just sent him a text saying that my current landlord dropped my rent and I decided to stay and that I hope he rents it soon.

I hope this guy gets caught. I never realized what goes on. Not that I would have wired money but your site is awesome and thanks for having it.

Same guy just tried doing to to me.

I actually talked to that exact person today and he emailed me back for the second time about an hour ago!! We also texted each other.. I'm disappointed I sent him all my information but I'm glad I was smart enough to look up all the information (which like a good scammer it came back believable) well luckily we have Facebook now and I messaged the actual person with that name, home, age, and relatives. He has not responded yet but I'm sure he will be shocked his home and name is used in a scam in Michigan right now! He is using a new phone number now it is (707) 605-6755 And the email [email protected] and the emails were almost identical.. I wish there was more I could do than tell people and report the site!

My daughter just recieved this email as well. Only this time it is an address in Wi.
