There is no question what to believe. As Justin has already said, you need to put an end to this as it is doing NO good.

The person writing to you is an African scammer and thief. The "confession" is no more honest than anything else he has written (and yes, it is almost certainly a male behind these fake letters.) The scammer is continuing in these claims because he believes that you are still capable of being convinced to pay more money. In the end there is no girl, and nobody is EVER coming to see you. There is just a lying thief in Africa who sits at a computer writing anything that is necessary to convince people in other countries to send money.

It can be hard to imagine how someone can tell so many lies or play a part for so long without either giving up or developing a conscience. But that is exactly what does happen. The scammer sees you as nothing more than a source of money. He has no conscience--in fact, many of these scammers take pride in their ability to scam people and will boast about it. Most are not driven to scamming by poverty, either--they are driven by the desire to get a lot of money for little work. In fact, they often justify their scams by saying they are entitled to the money, or by blaming the victim, claiming they are getting what they deserve for being greedy and/or stupid.

The link below is a perfect example of just how warped the scammer mentality is: This scammer sat at a computer in Nigeria, using a fake identity and declaring his love for his target, leading her to believe they had a relationship--even going so far as to provide a fake flight confirmation. When it became clear that she was not going to pay for his fake emergencies, he then "admitted" to being a scammer, claiming that he was forced to scam or face deportation from UK (except he was never actually in UK.) His "confessions," just like the ones you received, were just more lies.
When the victim didn't fall for that, he then decided to declare that he had done nothing wrong, and just flat out demand that she send him money! Read his letters in the last 2 posts, and you can see just how warped it is. This is pretty typical of the scammer mentality.

Hi Viking, I am writing you because, I would really like to see justice served to this person or gang! I have a post office box,and name of the person that I sent money to.It was suppose to be her "mum".She calls her mom, Mum.I have been reading some other post on here and some are the same things, make me think its the same group or same person.I think we can get something done about this. You lost way more money than I did,so I want to see them caught even more now. They prey on good people, with a heart, and act like their in love with you, which makes you beleive them.Well hopefully you know now All about them.I'm just finding out all about them, and want as much info as possible. The important thing is to Not give them any info! They don't need to know their mistakes. They know what their doing, they are professional con artist. They have stolen money from so many people, that they are making a great living just on fools.I'm writing because,I want them stopped, and they need to serve time.Let me know what to do,if you have any info.I don't even know if Ghana Police will even do anything about it,cause so many there are doing this. They need to learn how to work for a living.

This person has now told me that she has moved to Anambra state, Nigeria. She isvery angry because I have not sent her more money and she calls me all kind of ugly things.

Because I believe she will try to scam somebody else, I post this warning.

She is a liar. Don't believe a word she says, even if she swears she's lying! Unless you see it in the headers, ignore where she says she is.

Quit communicating with this lying scammer, and ignore anything and everything she says. If the "FBI" threatens to come after you for not sending her money, it's more scammer lies; ignore them too.

Dear Viking and others---yes, indeed break contact, change your email address, whatever it takes. I believe I know who you speak of, I have looked up this Josie Ann Miller and see dozens of names using her photos, the name you had contact with is one of many. What's even more disturbing- I've looked at Josie's actual website, and it appears she IS aware of these scams using her photos and videos, which suggest numerous possibilities of her being in collusion with the whole thing, otherwise, how are so many names attached to her? Break it off dude--I know it's hard----I know for myself not to fall for any of these people again. Next one who asks about money, tell them to F**k off. That's my approach from now on.

We still apparently have some confusion here.

Josie Ann Miller is NOT in collusion with this whole thing. She is NOT involved in ANY way.

Josie Ann Miller is one of many young women who make their money in internet porn. The basic concept is the same for all of these sites--they include some "free" porn photos and/or video on their sites and other porn sites. If you visit her site (or any of hundreds like hers) you will be able to buy her porn DVD's or become a member, which gives you option to access a much larger number of photos and video (typically hundreds to thousands of additional photos/videos, sometimes including live webcam sessions) for a membership fee. This is standard marketing tactic--offer a free "sample" of the product, and if the person likes it, they can buy a lot more.

Josie (and others like her) make their money from video sales and membership fees, plain and simple.

The scammers simply use stolen credit card information to buy memberships to the porn sites. Once they get on the site, they quickly save a large numbers of photos (and video) to their own computers or flash drives. In Josie's case, the stolen material includes recordings of live webcam sessions.
By the time the billing company discovers the credit card is being used illegally, the scammer has saved the material he needs for his scams and there is no way to get it back.

The porn models are aware of the misuse of their photos and video. Many of them (especially Josie and Raven Riley, the two most commonly used for scam profile, mostly because they have a very large amount of material on the internet) have dealt with hundreds (if not thousands) of letters and phone calls from men who believe they are involved with them or have been scammed by them. They have posted warnings on their websites in an attempt to help. But they can't stop the scammers, because as long as they have their photos and video for sale, the scammers will take advantage.
