There is a scam going around contacting web developers to develop websites, which I just experienced first hand, but did not lose on money or services. The initial email went as follows.

Morning,
How are you doing and am Susan Jordan.I need a competent and and creative web designer so get back to me if you are available to take job now, awaits your mail soonest.

Regards.

I took it as a legit request, as images and website copy was sent. However, when I received the following response after a few weeks, I began doing research and discovered other web developers are reporting the same contact.

How are you doing today and the check has been mail out, there is was a mistake with the amount on the check, you will be getting the check by weekend or early next week. Its is a check of $3800 like i told you before so when you get it just deposit it and when your account has been credited i will give you a details where you will return the difference to,awaits your mail.

Regards.

Just putting out a warning to my fellow developers. In checking out the email header, the source address was [email protected] but was reporting it sent as [email protected]. Below is the header information.
