Romance Scam on Linked In

I fell victim to a scam on Linked in - $250.00 by western union.

I was pissed off so I deleted her email address before I figured it out:

I have since identified a few others. They are also on the Dating Site OK.Cupid.com

It is always a young lady, who is a US citizen, parent died, now living with a grandparent in Ghana or Turkey or some other third world country. The will not do a video skype call with you or any other video call to verify their pic.
They will not send you a Valid Passport of ID
They will say their internet has no video
They will send you letter of love that are really good.
I actually offered to get a low price tablet for her (idiot) (sucker) so I could video chat with someone who was probably a low life nigerian prostitute scammer.
I was vulnerable and lonely after a divorce from a woman I was married to for over 30 years.

Don't be so hard on yourself, understand that you were dealing with a professional con-MAN ( not a woman at all). These criminals do nothing but scam people all day, every day, and they know what works and how to steal from people.

Is it possible you still have those deleted emails in a trash bin in your email box?? posting them would be great to show the script(s) this scammer used.

understand that the pic you received is a stolen picture of another (unaware) victim. These criminals are cruel, sadistic, and will stop at nothing to pump you dry of every penny you have. They have even been known to coerce people into mortgaging houses, taking out loans, and masses of other trickery to steal your money and don't give one small bit that what they do is harming another individual.
