Welcome to ScamWarners mmdstudio, sadly, once the money is picked up at the other end, there is no recourse. Your money is gone. Western Union assumes you know the person you are sending the money to and you want them to have the money.

Real businesses do not receive payments by Western Union. We advise people to never send money by Western Union or any other money transfer service unless you know the person in your real life.

In the future, please deface the photos per our forum rules. It appears the website has already been shut down.

Bubbles, former Scamwarners moderator.

Rest in Peace 24 June 2015.

Gone, but never forgotten.

There is definitely something going on here.

The photograph of Bryan Willsdeen - Online Clients Manager at
http://www.metal-scraps.co.uk/#/about-us/4548220747
is a version of the photograph of Julian Cornthwaite, MD of Unicorn Southern Ltd, here:
http://www.unicornsouthern.co.uk/About.html and even
Sir Julian Lesfragter, Managing Director/Academic Registrar, Royal Buckingham Institution (United Kingdom) here:
http://www.royalbuckinghaminstitution.c ... ctors.html
Amazingly Sir Julian appears to be the only Lesfragter in the entire (web) galaxy, but that will have to be another story.

A closer look at Metal Scraps Limited http://www.metal-scraps.co.uk/
or Metal Scraps Sourcing as they also refer to themselves.

On their home page they say,
We are a young, dynamic company
Well yes and no. Later on they say they were formed in 1994, but Companies House says the company was formed on 21st November 2012 and the website was registered on 13th February 2011, for 2 years, by Christopher Gael, (UK Individual) 3801 Campus Drive, Waco, 76701, United States.
The company operates from its own 10 acre site in Bradford, West Yorkshire in the UK. Office / Scrap Ground Address: Metal Scrap Limited, Cityway Industrial Area, off Square Street, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD4 8NP
Well possibly. Royal Mail does not recognise that postcode and someone would need to scout the area but I suspect they have confused themselves with European Metal Recycling Ltd at Planetrees Road, Bradford, BD4 8AE
The company has an annual turnover of USD 35 million, trading worldwide and employing 70 people engaged in all aspects of metal reclamation.
(Surely not so small, see below.)

On their About us page they say,
Metal Scraps Limited was formed in 1994, making the first of several key acquisitions to rapidly grow the company and create a global leader in scraps. The company employs 170 people and operates at Bradford, West Yorkshire
Good heavens, they grew since the home page!
Metal Scraps Limited has achieved sustained organic growth over the past decade, with an average annual compounded sales growth of 35% over the last 8 years and turnover topping £3 billion in the financial year 2008.
Well who’d a thought it, they’ve only been around for a month, never filed accounts and their turnover has just shot up! This is actually a straight steal from an article about EMR Group here:
http://www.benefits-of-recycling.com/eu ... recycling/

Metal Scraps Limited has been an active member of the Industry Council for Electronic Equipment
Recycling for many years.
However they do not appear on the list of members here:
http://www.icer.org.uk/direct.htm

Finally (after several edits) it says here http://www.metal-scraps.co.uk/#/used-ca ... 4548499285
that Metal Scraps Limited is a subsidiary of Scraps Recycling PVT Limited, Company No. 07557653
which, according to Companies House was incorporated on 09/03/2011 and dissolved on 23/10/2012 without having to file accounts.
Note that this company also has/had a web presence as Scrap Recycling PVT Limited

So scam site or no? I’ll leave that to the mods.

However I would not want to pick a fight with a company that claims to be able to supply 50,000 tonnes of recycled nappies each month. Yeuk!

I am shocked to have to report that chunks of Metal Scraps Limited's website are reproduced here:
http://sadecgroup.webs.com
Sadec Import & Export's website (still under construction)
At SADEC IMPORT & EXPORT (PTY) LTD was formed in 1994, making the first of several key acquisitions to rapidly grow the company and create a global leader in scraps.
Our core business is the recycling of metal-rich waste streams arising from end of life vehicles/ consumer products, industry and construction/ demolition, resulting in sales of recycled commodities of around 10 million tonnes a year. Not only do we have extensive ferrous and non-ferrous operations, we are also rapidly expanding our activities

and just in case that is too subtle, they go on to say,
Metal Scraps Limited has achieved sustained organic growth over the past decade, with an average annual compounded sales growth of 35% over the last 8 years and turnover topping £3 billion in the financial year 2008.

Metal Scraps Limited has undertaken a broad range of research and development projects over several years to prepare for the directive.
Not only have we installed purpose-built equipment to recycle fridges, preventing the release of harmful gases into the environment, we're also developing specialist techniques for the cost-effective and safe treatment of many other products.

Metal Scraps Limited has been paying particular attention to improving recycling rates for plastics, rubber, glass and other non-metallics. We already recover the concrete counter-balance from over one million washing machines a year for construction uses.

Metal Scraps Limited has been an active member of the Industry Council for Electronic Equipment
Recycling for many years.

Woops!

Oh dear!

Haris Enterprise's website http://www.harisent.com
registered 20/09/2012 for 1 year only, bears similarities to that of Metal Scraps Limited

Our core business is the recycling of metal-rich waste streams arising from end of life vehicles/ consumer products, industry and construction/ demolition, resulting in sales of recycled commodities of around 10 million tonnes a year. Not only do we have extensive ferrous and non-ferrous operations, we are also rapidly expanding our activities in plastics and other materials. Already we produce over 100 grades of recycled products, which are taken to market by our extensive road, rail and shipping network.

Haris Enterprises. has achieved sustained organic growth over the past decade, with an average annual compounded sales growth of 35% over the last 8 years and turnover topping £3 billion in the financial year 2008.

in fact the "About us" pages are basically textually the same.

I know it's no help to the original poster now, but if you ever pay money to an incorporated company in the UK or anywhere else, you must never pay the money to anywhere other than a bank account in its name in the country in which it claims to operate. Even then that doesn't guarantee that you'll get what you pay for but you do at least have a place to start making complaints, and you know that it must have identified itself to the bank. Banks have to obey rules with regard to confirming the identity of companies. It doesn't mean that you can't be ripped off still, but it's a basic necessity.

You may have been told that paying cash is a way to avoid paying tax or VAT, but you have also found out the major drawback to paying in that way.

CAR ADVERTS - If a car seller mentions escrow - he's scamming you Never ever for any reason pay anything until you have seen and inspected the vehicle
