Subsequently, on 15 September 2006, it was converted to a public limited company and assumed its present name of Marks Oil Services UK.

I used to drive an MR2 and I recall that it didn't translate too well in to French. Simlarly no corporation would use a name that can be read as Mark Soil Services. Soil has another historic meaning for those wishing to avoid using the alternative word.
