Lottery scam - Skype <[email protected]> This is the apparent originating mail and the reply-to address for the first mail. But the body of the mail includes a separate address, see below.

Originating IP: 74.208.4.201 The GMX. (Mail.com) mail servers in Pennsylvania, US.

The phone area code +1 (902) is (according to Wikipedia) for the Canadian provinces of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, but may be a web based referral service.

True origin, yet to be determined.

At least on of these addresses has previously been linked with a Microsoft lottery scam.

The second mail will be addressed to the victim the scammer personalizes it according to how the victim replies to the first mail, to make it seem more genuine.:

Most victims would chose option 2, not visiting the US, and wary of handing over their banking details. The scammer will then use the photographic identification provided to con other victims in other ways. The victim of this scam will then be required to pay a series of fees for processing, admin, courier fees, insurance of the check etc.. until the victim either twigs that it's a scam and refuses to pay, or is bled utterly dry.
