I received the following PM today so modified the photo text a little. I don't believe I was entirely wrong.

How do you want to handle this? You've reposted my picture saying that every time someone sees my picture, 'they' should assume it's a scam. That is a false statement and it's defamatory.

Now that might be fine if a scammer/mugu were using a drawing but, you see, I actually do have this photo posted on my facebook. Obviously, your claim is false. I've done a hell of a lot of work, both legal and direct contact with social networks and sites like yours, to get it removed from places like scamwarners. What's interesting is that what I've found is that country borders don't always protect people in UK; because of the work I do, it turns out that my likeness and personal information attached to many such irresponsible reporting is covered by the EU Safe Harbor agreement.

I hope that you understand that I'm as much a victim in all of this as anyone - if not more. I've had scam victims on my doorstep, showing up to my job, calling my family and hacking my accounts for years now. You or your scam busting buds are not going to tell me anything I don't already know and you're sure as hell not going to convince me that this is all partially my fault for having posted my pictures on the internet years ago without a watermark. I've had those arguments and I've won them.

So, the question to you is pretty simple, how do you want to handle correctly reporting this scammer?

I've authorized it's use on Romancescam.com but you and I have never been in contact. I have no history with you, and as far as I know, you're just another cog in a perpetual wheel of terror on my life since this whole ordeal began years ago. I've logged a case with IC3 under Complaint Id: I1205031833164052. That's a real complaint number and I'm the real person in this picture.

So I must ask who is the facebook profile of Massimo Moratti?
Maybe it is MrJorge Mariani Ortiz messaging me?
Let me say I publish the picture under "fair use" to inform and warn victims of scams by persons misusing the photo.
I would suggest that the facebook profile of Massino Moratti is a fake, because Mr Ortiz has "allowed RS" to post the info and it includes the email address [email protected].
I also believe that by publishing the stolen photo I serve the wishes of the owner because with the subject in the open we can take steps to deal with the scammer and get his lies off the internet together with the picture abuse. Yes of course the owner of the stolen picture is as much a victim and I find this statement

Well. I did tell something that was not known to him. That I caught the scammer on site, blocked the scammers proxy IP so he couldn't use it, stopped his logged on session and then caught him attempting to log back on using his real IP from Nigeria.
I can't begin to talk about the lack of security awareness most people possess when they sit in front of a computer, and it is not an argument to win or lose when the results speak for themselves and we see victims here daily. I can do no better than quote RS.

I put some pictures of myself on Facebook, didn't secure it and my pictures were stolen.

...it's your fault when your pictures got stolen by scammers....YOU ARE A VICTIM TOO
...and it's your responsibility to take care of your pictures when you post them at the internet

so do not make innocent people responsible for your pictures are used by scammer

I am just a site member and warn people of scams. Why should a legit person try to get the material removed from Scamwarners? I am not going to remove my posting for obvious reasons and frankly- the whole thing does not ring true to me.
