Need help. Met girl on pof and she asked for my number, started sending pics. I did not send any explicit images back, asking how old she was and she said " i said i was having a sweet 16"

Yesterday a guy sends me along message saying the same thing, going by the name of "Marc Brown" threatening to call the cops. He asked for $600 in return. Suggested I use PayPal cards or MoneyGram. He knew my name, he even knew my brother and mother's name. I talked to the guy, he has a ringback tone so when you call it plays some rap song. He is a black guy. I asked him how did you get my name and families name? He replied that "it's public information, I found it on facebook..."

Anyway, he did the same thing as I've seen in other threads... sending me this agreement. I definitely panicked and was going to get him the money until I realized this has to be an extortion plot.

So I blocked his number, haven't heard from anyone since. But he called me freaking job not too long ago. I told the receptionist to not answer from this number. I'm kinda scared, anyone have any advice???

This is the number: 803-206-6324

Any help would be appreciated.

I am 17 and was messaged on facebook by what I assumed was a bot. At first it was just innocent talk (I was bored and wanted to see how good the bot was) but then it facebook video called me and I not thinking properly I thought that I had merely been mistaken before and it was a actually real person. The person in the video got naked and asked me to show her explicit images of myself, which I did. The camera then turned to a recording of me sending the videos and now she claims that if I don't pay her she will send them to all my family and friends and also that she will contact the police because I sent explicit images of a minor (which is illegal in the UK even though it's pictures of myself and I was a minor when I sent them). What do I do?

She is now posting it all over facebook and I don't know what to do please help me

Read the first post of this topic: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=116974

You will need to tell your parents, though, because you are a minor.

ETA: I just re-read your post. The videos are posted on Facebook?? You and your parents need to contact Facebook about them AND go to your local police as soon as possible. Your scammer is now circulating indecent images of a minor which is illegal.

I'm sorry this happened to you, but you've learned a valuable lesson here. Hopefully you won't find yourself in this situation again.

App: SayHi
"Girl's" Username: Kellylady
Phone#: 3522759485 (and for search engine's sake... +13522759485 ... 352-275-9485 )

Same rhetoric that's already been addressed here... "18 year old girl" sends nude pics even if you don't ask for them, I sent back no inappropriate pics of myself, "father" calls saying his daughter is underage and his wife is livid and going to the police, he settles the tension in the house and calms his wife, says to send $350 to deactivate the phone from their family plan and $500 to get his daughter mental health treatments and in return they will not call the cops.

Sent to me.

In February I was talking to this girl on POF, we exchanged numbers immediately and started chatting. She then told me that she is 17 and if I was cool with it. I said as long as we are having a good conversation I dont mind. The same day she sent me a nude picture(nothing sexual) and she asked for one. I was a little drunk at that time and stupidly I sent her a picture which I took from the internet again nothing sexual. We exchanged some more texts and decided to meet. Suddenly, i get a call from her father who was pissed off, who said that he is shocked and realy angry and his wife wants to press charges against me. He said that if somehow if I arranged for 5000 to send her daughter back to GA he would calm his wife down and not press charges against me. But I got the money down to 2000. I was so terrified that I paid the money and he said that he will never call me back again and that he never wants to talk to me. In April again he texts me that it would be good if I call him and it benefit myself. He said that his daughter has cut her veins and he wants me to pay the medical bills which were 3000. The money dropped to 500 when I said I don't have that much money. I paid him off and blocked the number. In June, I received a call from a officer in SC saying that he has come to know about the whole situation and if I sort things out with the father, he would not press charges. The father calls me in the next 5 mins and asks me for more 4500 for medical bills. I get him down to 450 and pay it off. Then he calls me back in July, saying that he has to put her in counselling and if I dont pay for private counselling he will have to put her in state run facility. And if they come to know he can't do anything. I got so terrified that I paid him 350. But i just wanted advice from you. I have changed my number. But is this is a scam ? I am still terrified about this whole situation. I don't wanna go to jail. Please help. Daughters name Ayana, fathers name Demetre Pierce, mothers name Carol. Money sent to Renee Spykes, Brittany Johnson, Jasmine Taylor all to Savannah, GA. Phone numbers +1 (803) 406-2026, +1 (912) 346-7855, +1 (912) 239-0028. Delta, Celco, Celco. Please help

Bryon Williams wrote:Blackmail Scams/Sextortion Scams.

There are various types of these scams. I will explain a few.

Many Social Media Sites such as Skype, Kik, Facebook, Pof and Chatroulette are a home for Scammers and Thieves to use to scam by using threats of fear and/or criminal charges.

This scam involves 'grooming' a potential victim into sending compromising photographs/video to the scammer - In some scams the scammer/thief will, initially, send compromising pictures which he/she will say are of him/her -- these will be stolen from elsewhere

Types of blackmail/sextortion scams:

Threatening to send your images to your Facebook friends and family.

Scammer will meet you on a social media site and ask to exchange compromising images. He may have asked prior or will ask later to be added to your Facebook account.

Now the scam begins. He will tell you to send money via Moneygram, Western Union, Amazon gift card, Prepaid scratch off card or any other untraceable method to him.

He will tell you if you do not comply he will send the photo’s to your Facebook friends list.

Another version of this scam is Under Age girls/boys.

The scammer will meet you again on a social media site. He/she will tell you they are over the age of 18. As you progress communicating with this person/scammer he will ask to exchange indecent photographs/video.

After you exchange photo’s you will be contacted by the scammers fake "Father" or "Mother". They will tell you that you sent pictures to an under age girl/boy. They will want you to send money for therapy or for them not to go to the police. In some cases the scammer has contacted victim pretending to be Law Enforcement.

There are also seen cases where a scammer pretends to an online agent looking for pedophiles. This scam is using the same payment methods mentioned above. The Scammer will tell you that if you pay them they will not report it.

Recommended Actions:

It is best to stop all contact with the scammers. Ignore his calls and messages.

Ignore all demands for money. If you pay the scammer he will continue to blackmail you. You will only stop paying when you go broke or realize you are being scammed.

Deactivate your Facebook account for two weeks. Change your photo or avatar when you reactivate it or get a new one. Also change your user name. Do not accept requests from anyone you have never met.

Do the above for all social media and Skype.

You may have to change your phone numbers.

File a report with your local law enforcement agency and to one of the following below if possible.

USA: IC3 - http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
Canada: Anti Fraud Center - http://www.antifraudcentre-centreantifr ... index.shtm
UK: Action Fraud - http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/

I sent intimate photos/video to my scammer or he says he recorded my activities on webcam, and now he is threatening to publish them. What can I do?
Unfortunately, there is not much you can do. The only advice we can give you is not to give in to blackmail demands, and once again, cut off ALL contact with the scammer. If he cannot reach you, he cannot blackmail you. If he knows that he has power over you, he will continue to abuse that power and demand more and more money. He may promise to destroy the photos/video, but remember he is a liar and a thief, and his promises are worth nothing.

The truth is, in most cases the scammer will not follow through with this threat, because following through will cost him time and money. If he tries to post anything pornographic, most public sites would delete it anyway. In the unlikely event that he does post something, you need to be proactive and contact the site immediately to have it removed. Depending on the threats, you may want to file a report with law enforcement.

Just remember for the future that any photo or video you give to ANYONE is out of your control, and anything you do on webcam can be recorded. This particular issue is not exclusive to scammers - the internet is full of stories of angry people who posted intimate details or photos/video of ex-partners after a relationship ended badly.

If you sent or received nudes knowing that you were communicating with a minor the above does not apply to you.

In this situation, we are not willing/nor will assist you.

Hi I'm currently a victim of this scam. So far everything has been happening the same way that everyone else experienced. My only question is that did anyone receive a call from a local number with the person claiming to be a member of the local sheriff's department? I traced the number and it does lead back to the sheriffs sub station in my area. However the person claiming to be law enforcement sounded very similar to the so called "father" that has been continuing to call me. Deep voice with a southern accent. I love nowhere near the southern states either. If anyone can help me out if greatly appreciate it.

Simplest solution . Get yourself a microrecorder and when they call to extort money out of you . Record it . After you've recorded it , go to your police station and report it .

@Medic39, with the basic information you provided.

If a real deputy called you he will want to meet with you for an interview. He will not call you to advise you to comply with the father.

If the father made a real official complaint the deputy may call you for a face to face interview. Other than that he will not call.

Also go ahead and post the phone number, the alleged "father" is calling from . Other potential victims may be searching it .
