Blackmail Scams - Sextortion Scams

The profile has been reported to POF . The easiest way to avoid being scammed like this is NEVER send nude / pornographic / potentially embarrassing photos to anyone or at least not to someone you just met on the internet .

As soon as you send these photos the story changes and the scam kicks in . We've had victims come here in absolute terror from this scam . Some too afraid to post in public .

This deal happened to me over the weekend. I've changed my phone number already and am glad you guys have already posted your stories. I figured it was a scam when I got the first batch of texts and this confirmed it. I let myself get duped by an OKCupid profile called purdypaige00. Gave out my number and got texts from "Paige" at 570-217-0766. I felt like something was sketchy so I didn't send any below the waist pics thank god. But she send a bunch of low quality pics and then I heard no more from her for a week. Then this weekend got the "sir" texts from 843-925-0255. Don't know who the guy claimed his name was cause I never replied. Blocked the number yesterday and changed my number today. It pisses me off that people do this and also that I fell for it. No more online dating shit for this guy. Be careful out there guys.

i have had all my photos stolen with the threts of them being leeked online have and photos that were personal taken and made into images for black mail saying she is gonna ruin my life well hears a message to you darlin you wanna take privet photos of me that i sent to my wife to be and try to make me feel bad i will stand on a skyscraper and do naked jumping jacks and that pretty much f*cks ur plans up i do not respond to black mail so grow the fuck up u silly little girl you are not the first to photo shop pictures of me in an attempt to black mail me she is also a known webcam hacker to and is trying to black mail me for 200euro ha ha ha we not in the un im english numbnuts

Fell victim to this also, thanks to this site I caught it before it was too late. Pretty much same scenario as all others on here. Start talking to girl, exchange pictures, get a call from her "father" saying hes going to go to the cops after he talks to his wife. He calls back a few hours later, says I can either go to court or pay him $800 to disconnect her phone, he wants me to check in every morning and night until I can "Walmart to Walmart" him the money. Uses the word "Son" a lot.

Ok, so I admittedly did something stupid, and hoping I resolved it. Any advice would be welcome. A "girl" added me on kik, and we got dirty, and traded nudes. She then sent a screenshot of my family, looked like possibly after she asked for an e-mail address to send a video. She then told me to sign up to a website, or she'd share the pics with my family. I told her the card was declined and I couldn't sign up, she then said I need to find another card. After finding this site, I blocked and reported her, and ensured all my Facebook settings were friends only. Just wondered if they're likely to give up or attempt to send the pics? Yes, I know I was an idiot. And yes, I know she is really a he. Like I said, any advice welcome. I didn't send any card details.

Just block them and report them on Ic3 . This is just a variation of the original scam . Don't pay them anything .

Well, I believe to be the latest victim. This man called claiming to be the father of the girl and threatened to go to authorities if I didn't agree to pay half of counseling of $2,500. He has had to confer with his "wife" several times. The number is from SC, but she claims to be in Lawton, OK. Her name is Michelle. He hasn't given his yet. Not sure how to paste a link on here but here's photos of her POF site. I'm very nervous over this. I'll include the number they are using also. Same number for daughter/father.

"Sunday night I was contacted by a user on OKCupid. Her profile stated that she was 20. She then asked for my number and like an idiot I gave it to her without thinking anything about it. She then sent me photos of her in her underwear. The person on the website and the picture she sent me looked different. I then receive a text from the "father" the next day. Then a detective calls me later that night from the exact same phone number. First they wanted $300 for the broken phone and then $2300 for a counseling service. This is extortion to the fullest extent. "

He said that the daughters name was Michelle. She claimed to be from Pennsylvania."

The scenario that happened to Mfwic is the exact story as mine. The numbers they used were 864-520-7996 and the detectives number was 704-232-9409.

I thank you for your website and I will be more cautious of online dating. I blocked and deleted all messages the scammers sent. I have since deleted my profile and will probably never go back to online dating again. I will be contacting IC3.

So this morning I was talking to a girl and she got real frisky really fast. I went with it. She started sending me pictures seeing her profile was 19, I was okay with it. Then I'm told she's 17. Her father apparently barged in on her taking these pictures and when he came in she went and broke his TV and laptop. He wants me to pay for them to be fixed. And he has to send her back to SC because she was visiting her father in Phoenix. Well it seemed fishy. But me being in the military and realizing what just happened. I knew it could fuck me out of my whole career and life. Reading all of these made me notice a trend. They mostly come from SC. Most of these numbers have been 843. Glad this forum exists

Hi everybody. I need advice. I am so embarrassed and scared. So i was on Craigslist i answered and ad. We got to talking she ww had the same onterested. Then ahe sent me pics not nude mind you. Anyway them she says she want me to play a scenario. She says if you were to go to my room what would you do. So i replyed. Answered her question. And i semt her some pics of my junk at the time i didnt know she was underage.. Didnt hear back from her. So then i ask if she wanted to meet up. She said yes. So i she gave me her number we texted she then tell me she 16. And to get her booze. I said i was uncomfortable. After i found out I deleted her pics and her emails. said i wasnt going to do anything until i ws comfortable. I was jsut going to meet her to talk that the god honest truth. So we texted atthe store told her i got the booze. Then i was on my waym then. I ws texing her then all of a sudden she says hold up. I get a call form this number 8663472423 and i picked up they it was akward at first cause i am hard of hearing but then he tells me he was from child protection acegency and he was with law enforcement i couldnt really hear him he said donyou go on craiglist encounters and he knew all this stuff and how i bought her alcohol. When i just bought it like not even 2t min ago. He sadi he was investigating the issue and threaten jail tim unless i cooprated and started asking me question. When he brought uo aboutbthe booze. I relized there no way the can find out about that that fast. And the whole situation played through my mind and it hit me they were scammers. So i told them dont call me again if they do ill call the police. They said they now getting a warrant for my arrest and going to be arresting me soom. I hanged up. I deleted the girls number. Now couple hours later the girls number texted me her number is 724473-3538 she just texted they sent the evidence to the local authorities. So i wanted to make sure this was a scam and also ask what should i do. I changed my mind about going when i got the call i was going to my grandma who lived in that area the girl supposedly lived. If you can help it be great. Im stressin out over this.

I couldn't hear really hear him but when i talked to him he sounded really young. And i can tell he was shaky when i told him i couldt hear and he had no cofidemce in his delivery. I think he was trying to scare me he could bring up about the money. But i cut him off before he could. When when o told him dont contact me again he said there going to issue a warrent and coming to areest me now. Couple hours later they me message me on a different number and i think it was the girl number cause it looked familar. And just said the sent the evdince to the local authorities. I didnt text back.
