Yeah I just had it done to me big time, awful experience. Was checking out the site SKOUT, got a "wink" from supposedly an attractive woman who claimed to be 25, can't remember her screen name, she's been deactivated. We had a few flirtatious back-and-forths, then she insisted on going to text and I stupidly agreed. A few more back-and-forths on text where she induced me to send a couple of nudes in exchange for hers, then she stopped responding. She called me "sweets."

A few days later I got a call from 864-490-4591 (South Carolina), guy (probably white) with a thick southern accent. Had found my real name, told me we had a big problem - I had sent those pics to his 15 yr. old daughter Nikki. When he saw the pics he had smashed her laptop. His God-fearing church-going wife was coming home later that day and would flip out if she found out about me and the laptop and surely call the cops on me. He needed me to send him half the money to replace the laptop ($700) immediately so that he could replace it before the mom got home. Of course, all this didn't add up but I panicked. Plus, wisely or not, I had it in my head that once the money went through, the scammer would have officially committed a documented felony and would surely leave me alone after that. (And he assured me at least 10 times this was the last I'd hear from him, not that I took much stock in that.) So I sent him the money via Western Union.

I went home and googled "underage scams" and found this thread and felt like the fool I am, live and learn. But two days later I got a long text from him ("Mike") from the same number saying he ended up having to confess to the wife and she was about to go to the cops on me unless I paid for the other half of the laptop. I responded that I knew he was a scam, that he had committed a felony and was committing another one now and that I expected not to hear from him again.

That night I got a call from 843-226-9080, didn't answer it. The voicemail was from a southern man, not sure if it was the same one, "Hello? Hello?" Almost like he was confused.

These guys are bad news to say the least. Steer clear at all costs.

No one can say for 100% they will not send the photo's. In most cases they will not.

If they do they have loss all leverage in this scam.

What we can say is if you continue to send money it will not stop the blackmail.

You can only protect yourself from future damage.

Do not respond to any of their contacts. Just disappear.

I sent intimate photos/video to my scammer or he says he recorded my activities on webcam, and now he is threatening to publish them. What can I do?
Unfortunately, there is not much you can do. The only advice we can give you is not to give in to blackmail demands, and once again, cut off ALL contact with the scammer. If he cannot reach you, he cannot blackmail you. If he knows that he has power over you, he will continue to abuse that power and demand more and more money. He may promise to destroy the photos/video, but remember he is a liar and a thief, and his promises are worth nothing.

The truth is, in most cases the scammer will not follow through with this threat, because following through will cost him time and money. If he tries to post anything pornographic, most public sites would delete it anyway. In the unlikely event that he does post something, you need to be proactive and contact the site immediately to have it removed. Depending on the threats, you may want to file a report with law enforcement.

Just remember for the future that any photo or video you give to ANYONE is out of your control, and anything you do on webcam can be recorded. This particular issue is not exclusive to scammers - the internet is full of stories of angry people who posted intimate details or photos/video of ex-partners after a relationship ended badly.

it's just been through kik but the first id they used was gracecollen and than they moved me to another id Lwinters12 to discuss with how to pay them
#294597 by Terminator5 Thu May 12, 2016 1:11 pm
Don't pay them anything . Just follow the advice previously given and disappear .

Their profiles have been recently deleted and only remnants of them are listed in the Google Indexes . I did note while looking that 1/2 to 3/4 of the profiles I saw listed on Kik appeared to be FAKES .

When you hang out on a site where a LARGE Volume of the profiles use phrases such as " home alone" , "i'm up for anything" , "Sexting/Flirting/Fun/Play/Trade Wanna have some fun" , "hit me up guys" along with other explicit language its like hanging out on a street corner, downtown in the seediest part of large city. Your going to get burned .

You can report that scam and the name in the philippines you were told to send money to here on the IC3 website. Thanks for posting to Scamwarners .

Can someone please tell me this is a scam ? I am in similar situation ,however I did not answer the "fathers" call
or text at all. He is claming I was sexting her underage daughter, who I thought was 18 because of her profile.

Text msg: "Son you got 5 minutes to call me.And explain why an Adult is Sexting my Underage Daughter, My Name is Mr. Renciu, I'm Nicole's Father, Son you need to call Me and My Wife wants to go to the Authorities to have you locked up Son, but i told her to calm down until we hear your side of the story, Son i suggest you give Me and My wife a call asap! "

The text msg was sent but divided into 3 short text and was written exactly as that.
I have not called or replied at all. I have blocked the number and closed my pof account. I am not sure was the right thing to do, because I wanna believe this is a scam and not real. I could really hep on what to do please.
