POSSILBE SCAMMER - HE ALMOST GOT ME !!!

His User Name is MSCOPPY - Thus My User Name here

We've been corresponding for a month and I don't want to post it all here because it 'doesn't prove anything'. I wasn't trying to bait him, just getting caught up in his 'dreams'. However, after reading all of your posts, he follow the same MO as the Nigerian scammer. He contacted me first....'suspiciously'.

[email protected] and YIM

White Male Picture - although I can't seem to post it here. describes himself as age 50, 5'10", slender build, blonde hair, hazel eyes, caucasian, engineering/architecture, divorce 11 years ago, likes horses.
WHATEVER !! :(

He is from Nigeria, works for Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC), mother and father are both deceased, he is an only child (no contact with cousins, etc) says he was born in Berlin, Germany, English is VERY GOOD however, lives in Houston, Texas, will be be retiring at the end of the year, "selling the house because of too many memories" and coming to the states to 'find his wfie'. ME...of course.

Gave me his phone number: 234 803 246 2606

His profile has already been removed from the site - probably from some other suspicious, more intelligent, female. Good for Her !!

It's true, you really have to have your wits about you to spot them. Usually they can be found out by an odd phrase from one of their first emails and a google search, They change their names frequently, but their email phrases give them away.
Glad you were able to spot them :)
Before long you'll be able to spot them instantly!

Well done on spotting him as a scammer. :D

To post photos, simply register with http://photobucket.com/ (it's free) then upload the pictures from your computer.

All you need to do then is copy & paste the IMG Code of that photo into your posting here.

Oh - & where are my manners  - welcome to scamwarners.

Hello and welcome,

Glad you found out before being scammed, it seems your scammer has already been listed on another antiscam site, you can take a look by Clicking Here
(which I just realised is your post) by posting their details such as you have it gives potential victims an oportunity to find the details and avoid losing money.

Some details that you may not have noticed are Click here although you may need to translate them and only you will know if they are relevant.

His early emails actually are helpful, a few searches can be made on his script which will often find results.

You may also get some results by checking his IP address, I can give you directions on that if you like.

I am gald you have shared your experience, by doing so it may well prevent others from being scammed.

If you would like some revenge or to get more information on romance scammers I can also direct you to some more information that you may be intersted in at our sister site http://www.419eater.com

I joined CatholicPeopleMeet beginning of Dec. I guess I'm a skeptic at heart, because even though a co-worker suggested on-line dating, it just didn't feel right. I have had conversations with him since I joined and I never gave personal info out i.e. names etc just generalized, just recently he said to me it would be nice for him to visit me so I could find out more about your family and who you are - to me that was a red flag.
Just recently Opah had a show on, and I'm never home to watch it and she was talking about scams and one was the dating scam so I was on "alert" especially stating Nigeria was where a lot of the scams came from.
A co-worker informed me this morning that I could actually go on http://www.google.com and google someone's name so this is how I found out this information today about this man - so I am sharing this info with you and I will block his e-mail address.
This person is now going by the name of: worldsurfer aka Sean Walker from CatholicPeopleMeet
And I thank you for the above information and will share with my co-workers.
Thanks

Hi Cew,

Welcome to Scamwarners,

It is always nice to see people come here who have found the information on this site before losing money to scammers, it makes the work we do worthwhile so thank you for letting us know.

If you have any information that is not listed above such as email addresses, phone numbers or early script, please post it here which may alert somebody else.

I am sure that nomscoppy will be thrilled to find that the information she provided was able to help somebody.

If you ever have doubts about somebody you meet online please ask before sending money, cashing cheques, accepting gifts or travelling to meet them, in fact if anybody asks you to do those things feel free to check in.

There are many signs of scammers that you will learn as you spend more time trying to find love online but be aware that some out there are extremely good at scamming.

Google will find the answers in most cases if you know what to look for so well done on finding us, you have passed the first scam free test :=)

Good morning I joined the free photo and added the picture - not sure if I added the right stuff - can you collect it from the above site and add it to your site? I couldn't believe it he sent me another flirt after I blocked him from my e-mail address

I am not sure why the first picture is not working but the second comes up. if your photobucket account still has that picture try clicking the image tag below then come back then click control "V" to paste it into your post.

I am not surprised the scammer tried to contact you again, for such lazy buggers they are persistent

I have on occasion received first-contact messages on dating sites from scammers who were still emailing me after previous contacts. It appears that some scammers forget who they've hit on. ;)

[email protected] if you want to ask me more questions.

Please be very careful with the emails from "the EFCC" it is very common for scammers to pretend to be from The "EFCC" and tell you exactly what you have posted, then they suggest your money can be returned but they will need you to pay some fees first.

The fees of course will be just more money you have lost to scammers.

There is a EFCC in Africa but unfortunately there are too few of them with too few powers to actually make a huge difference and I very much doubt that it is the real EFCC you have been writing to.

If you would like to post, email or PM any emails including the email address of these EFCC people I can look into it for you
