Someone claiming to be Ssg Gary David Edwards has actually contacted me via OurTime.com and is using these same photos. He contacted me 3 days ago and I chatted with him yesterday via Yahoo Messenger. I noted that his grammar is awkward, and became very leary when he asked me my "date of birth" and cell number...I did give him a phony month and day, but no year. I told him to give me his cell number and that I'd text him mine, to which he replied he couldnt because of security reasons. He told me he was originally from Miami, born Dec 30, 1961 and now from Cumming, GA, and stationed in Afghanistan. Claims to be retiring and "looking for the woman of his dreams." He even sent pictures of a 12 yr old son whom he said is named Paul and living in Ghana with a friend of his while he serves. He uses the Yahoo Messenger ID of ssg.gde01

I'd like to report this, but not sure whom to contact.
God bless the REAL Ralph Edwards for his service.....as a former vet myself, it really pisses me off that people could attempt and get away with this sort of garbage. Can't wait to see if this guy tries asking me to send money to help bring his son home from Ghana!

By the way...He goes by "CLEAVE2" on OurTime.com, and I also found him as "GreenIrishGirl" on SingleParentMeet.com

There really isn't much you can report if he hasn't stolen any money, but in the US, scams such as this would be reported to IC3.

I'm assuming based on his messenger name that he would also have an email address of: [email protected]

The pictures sent to me by "SSg Gary David Edwards" serving in Kabul, Afghanistan match those of the REAL Ssg Ralph Edwards used in similar scams posted on here by others. His messages are nearly the same as those sent to libbyanne...."A & A Academy at 6, boarding school at 16, playful and hurt academics, peace keeping mission, retiring after this mission", etc. etc.
He contacted me through OurTime.com under the usser name "CLEAVE2" and uses the email address [email protected] and the Yahoo Messenger ID ssg.gde01

This guy even included pictures of the real soldier and his son in emails to me claiming his son was having to live in Ghana with a friend while he served. Thank God I was smart enough to throw up a red flag upon noticing his awkward grammar and obvious lack of knowledge regarding military terms immediately . I did NOT send him any real information about myself. He did ask for my name, birthdate, and cell number during our initial chat online....but I gave him false info and definitely omitted a cell number. He of course said he couldnt send his due to "security issues."
I also pulled up another dating site...singleparentmeet.com... and he is on there as "GreenIrishGirl"
with the same pics and profile.

What a horrible thing to try and do to people!

Needless to say he unfortunately had me going for awhile .But after a week of emails and Yahoo chatsI started thinking"too goo d to be true". Boy what a let down. He first asked for my username and password for the dating site,then nothing . Until last night he asked me if I could get his 12 yr. old son ,Paul, a PS3 for his birthday on Oct . 25. He cant because its not allowed.I told him to let me know where to mail it and when. So I immediately googled his name withhis email address. Thats how I found scamwarners.Wish I would have done it sooner. Now I know better. How can some people be so heartless. Not only was I embarrassed, but hurt too. Thanks for being there.I just wanted to add I was sent 7 pictures ,2 with th 12 yr old.

He is telling the story of how he is stationed in Afghanistan, can not receive mail because of bombing , has an 11 year old daughter who is with a caretaker in Ghana, due to retire in 3 months..... Something about his emails and his rush to be IN LOVE was just a little concerning so I decided to copy and paste his last email poem in the search bar and low and behold look what I find, he has apparently taken advantage of several women. I just had an uneasy feeling about the entire thing so began to research and THANK GOD I am wiser than he obviously gives me credit for.... he is pursuing women on MATCH.COM so be careful if you are using a dating site , have the guy provide identifying information that can be verified before you trust them beyond just a conversation.... you can not be too careful
