Then continues correspondence using [email protected]

In the past this scammer has used photographs of Raven Riley, but is now using another models photos, the majority of which are pornographic.

Welcome to Scamwarners, and thanks for that. If as your name suggests you are in a good position to recognise modeling photos stolen by scammers, your input will be very useful.

When I suspect a scam (I ALWAYS do! ha!) I take key sentences and do searches online for them. When I hit a whole odd sentence verbatim on multiple sites I know I am dealing with a fraud. This is how I found this site. I used in quotes:

and of course I found it here. In this case the person had found me on a dating site and had sent me her email address:

The english used was very broken and none of the first 2 letters had any hits for quoted sentences online. Then the 3rd letter! First off it was unresponsive to any of my questions I had asked, and secondly it was randomly first horrible then suddenly perfect, almost poetic, speech. So I ran it and found it here.

I did an IP trace on the mail and it DID actually originate in Ghana where "she" claims to be from. In any case I want to post all that she wrote so far so that people who use my method will find some of that exact text online here. It''s a bore to read but it just goes to show how gullible people must be cuz they wouldn't bother doing this if it didn't work on someone!

I would warn you to visit other sites like this especially 49bittenus and romance scams this will not be the last time that your photo will be or probably has been used. Photo grabbing is common and very easy. the other sites have extensive pics with other aliases used as well. I would a dvise in the future that you simply state the fact that you are a beautiful woman and not post a photo make them ask you to send a photo. if they respond with a response pay very close attention to the spelling, LARGE CAPS, syntax, as they almost always give these things away. Sorry and good luck also many times they will try to make you stop talking to other girls on the site. Also a dead giveaway

I have not been to 419bittenus so I am not sure what kind of advice they give there but I do need to point out that we do have some very experienced people right here at Scamwarners.

I also need to ask you to PM one of our admins, they have red names and ask for a username change and give an alternative name, although perhaps its too late for that now as you have your details posted all over the place already.

Please dont take this the wrong way but you need to be more conscious of internet security and of what information you have available about yourself or you will find yourself a constant target of scammers, in just a few minutes of searching I can tell you so much about you its as if we have known each other for years, me knowing that information is not a problem, I live on the other side of the world for a start, but the same information is available to the same scammers you are attempting to advise people about.

I see you were a victim of a scammer a few months ago and since then you have been spreading the word about scams, well done for doing that but please, read up on our forums and the forums of romancescam as well, learn all there is to know, it is an unfortunate reality that your profile is exactly what gets the average scammer salivating and I am concerned that you may be tied up with scammers again, few real girls who are 20 years younger than you will really be looking for an average man, even if he looks good for his age.

I dont mean to offend you so I appologise if I have, but I think you need to learn a lot more about love scams before you end up caught up by another who is smarter than the last.

Hello, I ran into this woman on MySpace on Wednesday 02/24/2010. She is under the name, Mary Dey. To get to the point, if she offers to show her cam, it's not a live cam of her even though she is moving. I asked her to show me the peace sign. The web-cam didn't show it. That's how I knew the cam was not a live person. I was on to her even before I asked her to show her web-cam. I didn't offer any information she asked for. She said she was from Michigan, and movied to Ghana where she presently lives. So far, I have found one picture (A Perfect Match) on this site that she uses on her MySpace Photo's profile. Of course all the photo's on this site look like her. Her Yahoo screen name is: Mary Dey (passionate_woman1)

Scammers using webcam and showing "themselves" is becoming more common, with a little knowledge it isn't difficult to appear to be on webcam by showing some footage that can be found online.

As you correctly point out, asking them to do a specific thing for you like showing the peace sign is a great way to find out if you are actually chatting to the person on the footage.

Thank you for your information, if you have any information that is not shown here please add it, you never know what small piece of evidence will prevent somebody from being scammed.
