is this scam?

Hello, I met this man on-line, and just started chatting. He is saying he is u.s solder in Afghanistan.

He was very kind and nice in conversation and mentioned about his teenager daughter in u.s. he said its her birthday and want to send some money to go out with her friend but he cant access to his account.

I suggested to send small gift and card from Australia where I am. And he said she would like some money instead. And want me to e-mail this lady who is taking care of his daughter about how to send money.

I am confused because It is not a lot of money he is asking, and I suggested first if I can do anything. Sometimes he does not answer about my questions and said the internet connection is not good over there.

I feel really stupid when I am writing this, but I don’t want to hurt innocent person if any of this is true.

After reading some stories from this site , I told him. “I don’t think U.S army would not let you have free account access for your family. Please don’t hurt other people”. He replied how dare I am calling him a liar and he was just wanted to share his life story.

Shall I keep talking to him? Or is this another scam and I should not start more conversation?

YES IT IS A SCAM SO SEND NO MONEY. We need email headers and emails sent and any links to social network /dating sites used,
That's your fast response answer and more will follow from us all. Don't tell scammer what you know or challenge him, we like our scammers ignorant so they don't get more convincing. We really want as much as you have , names, phone numbers, other email addresses and even photos if you have any.
