posable scam

i am looking into a posable scam from [email protected] says she is from the states but is stuck in nigeria oweing a hotel bill

There is a scam that involves hijacking an email account by phishing. The scammer then changes the password, and sends an email to everyone in the address book.
He/she is stranded in a foreign country, and due to having been robbed, is unable to pay for the hotel, plane fare, etc. And can you send money to him/her via Western Union?
Do you know the supposed sender, or is there a reason for you to be in the address book?
