To catch a scammer

I would like to know what can be done to not only catch these scammers but also bring them to justice. I'm up for any idea. I'll act as a decoy, go undercover; whatever it takes. I get approached by plenty of them, and I always know what it is I'm dealing with often within the first message or two. If it seems like I'm a bit passionate; it's because I am. One of those jerks got to my mother and a childhood friend and I'm heated. So does anyone know what can be done to put this to an end or could point me in the right direction?
