There is also a Sargent Linda Donaldson in Iraq who is using exactly the same scam.

I have merged these posts as they are all in regards to the same scammer, by keeping discussion in the same place it will make it much easier for our support team members to give advice as well as make it easier for any potential victims to see any information that has been gathered

If you are in contect with any person claiming to be a GI in Afghanistan or Iraq ask them for their e-mail address which has '@us.army.mil' as the last part. It has to end exactly like that with no additions - and send him/her a message with a unique question and await his/her answer.

If he/she can't do it, or doesn't know what you're talking about, then it's most likely they're sitting in an internet cafe, a long way from Iraq or Afghanistan.

If they're really in the army it's not a big deal. If they're scammer, they'll get upset.
