Am I being scammed?

When the scammer says send money, he means by Western Union, that is by far the prefered method of sending money to scammers, for the scammers anyway

Anybody who asks you to send money by Western Union should be treated with the utmost suspicion, unless it is your immediate family member and you have spoken to them on the phone about it, otherwise it is certain to be a scammer.

Of course, if he really wanted you to pay an ISP he'd give you the details of a company and their bank account. It's a lot easier for a scammer to get hold of a payment made by Western Union, but one thing that is certain, is that this money will not being going to any ISP. Companies never have their funds received by individuals and most scammers are low life internet cafe dregs who wouldn't have the intelligence to go as far as opening a company account.

Quite how a scammer thinks a member of the US military would be allowed to arrange an internet connection through a Chinese isp in a war theatre I'm not sure, but it's a pretty far fetched idea. The fact is that the modern military have the most sophisticated communications known to man, and use those to allow their troops to communicate with home, they would never allow them to make their own arrangements.

If the money is going to China, and you can never be sure where a payment is actually going with Western Union, it suggests that that's where the scammer is really located, not Afghanistan.

Allow me to share my similar experience with Jerry Mckenzie. I guess we can work this out together with FBI and Washington D.C. though I made my reports already.

I'm sorry to hear you also lost money to this scam. Was he using the same email address? Do you still have any of his emails? If so, could you post them here to help alert others?

Just to make sure you understand--even though this scammer claims to be an American soldier, he is not a soldier, and he is not American. It is good to file a report anyway, to help officials to understand the problem--but unfortunately, any money you lost is gone, and you will not get it back.

I experienced scam lately with a man he introduced himself Jerry Mckenzie with email addresses [email protected],[email protected]. I saw a similar experience with a complainant using similar tactic, love letters, name as recipient of the money being asked, personal name and email address in this website viewtopic.php?f=13&t=9802&start=0; http://www.ip-adress.com/trace_email/?g ... UsingUsing the email addresses above, I was able to track down his similar identity using similar photos, information and email address on the different sites including Netlog, Friendster, Military Dating, www. scamwarners.com and was already banned in Christiandating.com where I met him.

The ff. are the details of my experience with him.
The ff. were the names used to receive the money in his behalf:
1. Yao Hua Huang 8771.57 China Western Union 512-162-1070 11/09/2010
2. Akeem Rabiu 2,000 China Western Union 509-234-4320 01/09/2011
3. Akeem Rabiu 5,000 China Western Union 239-025-5815 12/17/2010

He used to complain/tell to me about the ff:
1. His email address used to be hacked he couldn't email me back.
2. His webcam was always in trouble I failed to see him though been continually helping him.
3. Akeem Rabiu was identified as Iraqi and was used to receive money from me for he claimed his documents were with the embassy for processing of his Visa in China
4. Yao Hua Huang from China received the money from me for his internet connection to be able to communicate with his son he named J.J. McKenzie in New Castle.
5. All pictures appeared to be credible people but the ways ( habitual borrowing of money, reasoning, consistent failures to fulfill promises, encouraging me to borrow money from my friends for higher interest, talking to his superior, etc) of this person I consider irresponsible and dubious

I am requesting for your investigation regarding the identity of this man to be able to save whoever this man in the picture he is using or maybe if the one sending and the photo are one, at least we have reported to you fraudulent schemes like this from a Military from Kabul or in China.

Provided as well copies and evidences of my complaint to Jerry Mackenzie himself for the privelege to examine all information to account for possibility of misrepresentation (meaning not himself ) to finally liberate U.S. Army on further fraudulent schemes/mistakes which can be taken against the credible organization. Let us work hand in hand to investigate on this matter.

My days here are spent between parades,patrols and incursions and sometimes its overtly dangerous.what we do is sometimes search and destroy operations.We lost 3 good guys to soucide bombing yesterdays and that was so painful cause they were guys I knew personally..The three troops were killed when an improvised explosive device went off..

I get to read the requirement and talk to my superior and friends..they told me all i need now is my passport and get my papers signed which am hoping to get very soon and then get a recommendation from my superior which he has agreed to give out to me as soon as possible...then,all other documents required will can be processed when i get there...i was assured that i will get the letter from the US embassy there in no time..all i need to do is to provide my Passport,My Approved and Signed Papers and Recommendation Letter from my Superior and the Affidavit in Lieu of a Certificate of Legal Capacity to Marry will be handed to me...

Dear,i get to ask my friends and superior about the expedited process and they told me for as long as we have the necessary documents required,it will be so easy for us to get your visa and it will take less than 3 months for every military personel but i want to approximate the time to be less than 4 to 5 months as i am considering the time we will need to the get the marriage documents together..i mean the certificate from the church and other necessary things..i was told i can get the approved letter from the embassy in 5 days if i have my passport and my approved documents from washington and the recommendation letter from my superior...
They told me...it will be more easy to get married in Phillipines for it will give us the chance to get your visa as soon as possible..so i believe getting married there in Phillipines will make it more easier for us and with that we can hang around your family more before we set out to Thailand and Later to US..

I got my papers approved..am so sorry i didnt tell you early..its was due to the lack of internet..

I can tell you that I only had to get a few lines into the first email before it was clear that the person writing the letters is an African. The specific type of errors in English and some of the phrasing tell me that.

I'm not sure what you meant with the IP address link, as it doesn't show anything. If you could post the full headers from one of his emails, and the pictures he is using, that would help.
