Britons warned of fake holiday website scams in the peak holiday booking season, as trade body says calls about fraudsters have risen

Britons booking holidays online risk being duped by fraudsters stealing thousands of pounds through fake hotel and flight booking websites.

Scammers make a small outlay to set up fake travel booking websites and then take sales from members of the public who believe they are purchasing a holiday. The fraudsters make large sums of money by taking payments for holiday, hotel and flight reservations that do not exist.
