This company scammed me out of $2800. I was corresponding with "Colette Moreau Finance Manager" for Belangers Healthcare via email and asked her a ton of questions and it seemed legit. It was also too good to be true but since I recently lost my job I was desperate.
They email you saying you can cash checks from medical billing providers, take out your 5% commission of the check amount, and MoneyGram the rest to the person they tell you to (in another country). "Colette" verifies your name and address only- no SS# or bank account info. "Belangers" mails you a check from the "vendor" addressed to you; supposedly to save on commercial taxes. I looked up the company online the check was drawn from (USA Global Logistics LLC) and it was a real company so I'm thinking this was ok. I cash the check through my bank cuz I'm thinking it's easier than going to a check cashing place and paying fees. I then MoneyGram the funds. The next day my bank account is overdrawn. I feel so foolish for thinking this was legit, I'm thinking if it was a fraud the emails would document the scammer. Everything is under fake names and companies. Lesson learned the hard way!

Please post more details such as email address(es), web site address(es), phone / fax #'s , physical location(s).

scammers impersonate real companies all the time, and it is virtually worthless to have a single company name in a world economy, without a physical location to point at "the only one in the world"....

Also if post the actual emails ( or whatever your method of communcation was), removing your personal information first, people can search for the script they used.

[email protected] is the email address that I corresponded with.

http://belangers-healthcare.com/ is now taken down and replaced with some Russian website! Before the site was taken down this was the contact info, which is in France:
Belangers - Health Care
Address : 752, rue du General Lanrezac
Phone : +33142762461
Fax : +33142762461
A pic of the website (before taken down) is under the Employment Scams link titled "Medical billing and you: Laperrieres Health Care and friends" on this site. Different company name, same scammer
This link also has this company under fraud. It said the IP address belongs to [email protected]:
http://www.fraud-news.com/showthread.ph ... ealth-Care

Email thread (best to start from bottom, whole process is explained, the bitch even had the nerve to reply once I told her everything was done):

Dear ,
Thank you for performing first task.
We will send you the next check once we verify this transaction.

Best regards,
Colette Moreau,
Financial Manager,
Belangers - Health Care

Dear,
Our company's name Belangers - Health Care, located in France.
We receive help from individual Medical Billing Provider who use such systems as Western Union or MoneyGram to avoid taxes being placed on our funds. That is, we pay taxes in our locale before sending the funds on to you. Transactions classified as "commercial" are less common and require more work and expense, so we advise our Managers to mark them as "personal." Actually all you will need to do is to cash checks which will be sent to you by mail, take out your commission (5 percent of the check amount) and transfer the rest of the money from your local Money Gram office to clients whose names will be in instructions. The payment of $3,000 will be send to you after the first working month..
Checks will be written out to your name. They will be mailed by our customers in the USA.
I'll send you a detailed instruction about check processing by e-mail after the check is mailed to you.
Checks are of different amount, usually from $2,000 to $3,000. They are sent one at a time. Each next check is mailed after the previous task is completed.
Please email me your full name, correct and current home address to avoid mistakes. The check will be delivered to your address via first class of Regular mail..

Dear :
We offer a simple part-time home based job which doesn't require any special experience.
Our customers from the USA will send you checks by mail. Checks will be written out to your name. All you'll need to do is to cash these checks, take out your part and transfer the rest of the amount from your local Money Gram office to clients. All names and amounts will be in the detailed instruction.
Check amounts will be from $2,000 to $3,000. They'll be sent one at a time.
Your salary will be 5% + $3,000 at the end of the month.
If you want to start working in our company, please confirm that your address is correct and current:
Also let me know if you are ready to complete the first task.
Compulsory requirements:
1) ability to cash checks,
2) transfer money through Money Gram.
The first assignment will be sent to you ONLY after I receive your confirmation.

Thank you,
Colette Moreau,
Financial Manager,
Belangers - Health Care

thank you, I would never do anything remotely similar to this again, this is the 1st time I fell for something like this. The scammer actually emailed me back when I told her this morning the check bounce (before I realized this was a scam)- she asked for my bank name and phone number so she could talk to the manager! they are real ballsy! I wish there was a way to report this for criminal charges
#269184 by HillBilly Fri Sep 25, 2015 6:26 pm
I see in the original post it says something about a W2. Does that mean you are in the USA? if so, were the fake checks send by USPS?

If those answers are yes (you don't need to tell the forum), you can report the crime to the US Postal Inspector's office here : https://ribbs.usps.gov/locators/find-is.cfm make copies of all of your documents and take them with you. If not the USPS, then it can be reported to the fraud department of the carrier that delivered the fake checks. The USPI's office is really good about investigating and prosecuting these incidents -- look in the news forum to see a lot of good results they have.

and also the IC 3 here : https://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

belangers-healthcare.com is one of so far sixty fraudulent sites run by one gang. It was hosted in Germany by a Russian company. All these sites claim to be on Rue du General Lanrezac in an unspecified city in France, but none has any French on the site, and several of these sites' names are misspelled in French.

As you sent it today (in my time zone, it'll be tomorrow in half an hour), go to MoneyGram immediately and check if the money has been picked up. If not, cancel it.

The four sites of which Belangers was one went down, according to our records, on 2015-09-16. If the scammers can still receive email through them, we want to kill them completely. Please post an email you sent to Belangers, with complete headers, and the reply thereto, with complete headers.

Thanks Hillbilly for the info, I visited the sites you mentioned and filed the information.

Vonpaso, I did call MoneyGram right after I realized the check was no good and unfortunately the person had already picked it up earlier that morning. I had JUST missed them at that (by 1 hour). I copied and pasted an email with headers:

thanks for posting that, arciew . In the future please remove all of your personal information like I did before hitting post. I'll report it so either you or mod can remove it quickly. We only want info from scammers here :)

What you have posted is commonly called the "short headers", sometimes just headers. We need the "complete headers" which look more like this. (often a lot longer)

If you are using a mobile device, you may not be able to find the "complete headers", we have had issues with that in the past. But if you can, see if you can find something that looks more like what I've posted.

Use the links at the bottom of my post to help you see if you can find the complete headers from your email program.
thanks

Also please post the message you sent, to which Colette replied, with headers. Sometimes scammers use a different mail server to send messages than the one the domain uses to receive messages.

if it is the outlook email client, directions are here (including pictures) : http://its.yale.edu/how-to/article-disp ... ok-windows
Displaying Full Message Headers in Microsoft Outlook (Windows)

Not all email you receive can be trusted. Viewing full message headers allows you to see where messages originate. This information is often needed by security and support specialists to help locate the source of spam or other specific email issues.

Outlook 2007/2010/2013

You can display full headers by double clicking on a message so it opens in a separate window (not the preview pane).

Start Outlook.
Double-click the message for which you want to view full internet headers.
Click Options (2007) or Tags (2010/2013).

message options button /

The Message Options dialog box is displayed. The internet headers are shown in the Internet headers field at the bottom of the dialog box.

If you are talking about the Outlook Web mail see this article ( also with pictures) : http://www.utexas.edu/its/help/managing ... email/1946
Viewing Full Headers: Microsoft Outlook Web App

Use the following instructions to view the full email headers for a message in Microsoft Outlook Web App.
Select the message whose headers you want to view.
From the Actions menu in the top-right, select View original message.
Click the Message Details icon in the toolbar.

Message headers appear in the Internet Mail Headers section of the window that opens.
