We have been scammed by Ashley Ann over the last few days. She sent a response to our Craislist ad to rent a room as if she were a graduate student coming to the U.S. to study for a year. She asked for all of our info and then continued to exchange with us in detail for many exchanges convincing us that she was having a car delivered before coming etc. We became suspicious when she did not answer our questions about her name, phone number, emergency contact info etc. Then we came to this site and saw that she has used the same name to scam others.

Thank you very much for posting. But what I cannot figure out is what does she gain from doing this?????????

More than likely the scam would unfold like this . She would send you a fake check for the rent and make the check over by several hundred dollars and ask you to western the union that amount to a fake moving company .

Although without baiting the scam through entirety its hard to tell .

hi and welcome to scamwarners, sbennett6119.

T5 is right, it is very likely a fake check scam that did not bear fruit just yet.

If you could please post the first email or 2 from the scammer, including the complete headers but removing your personal information from the email and complete header we can probably tell you more. Names don't really mean a thing, as they are stolen or fictitious to start with. Email addresses are unique and much more traceable.

if you don't know how to reveal complete headers in your email program, see the links at the bottom of my post.
