So it all began in September when I met a Korean girl on Tinder, after a bit of back and forth we started chatting through Whatsapp. She told me things about her culture, her ambitions and she would message me every day and stay up late to talk to me after I finished work - it seemed that we were really getting to know each other better.
Around 2 weeks into our conversations she sent me a screenshot of her investment portfolio claiming her uncle has inside information on a cryptocurrency called NCOC that is in a crowdfunding stage, she said following her uncle's hints she was making 20k a month (currency not specified).
I moved the conversation on to other topics but after a while she said she will teach me how to make money if I want to learn, on the condition that I use the winnings to take her out for dinner. I was surprised, this girl has got game. I like it.
I wasn't a complete idiot (yet), I briefly researched the cryptocurrency NCOC, the platform she said to invest through ( https://ex.ncacoin.com ) and even her by using the pictures she had sent me. My findings:
1) NCOC as a cryptocurrency was completely unheard of online. But she did say it was in initial crowdfunding stage so maybe that was why.
2) https://ex.ncacoin.com was completely unheard of online. But it did have SSL encrypted (https) and the website had sufficient detail to fool me.
3) She seemed legit, as in reverse image search did not find that her pictures belonged to anybody else online.
After some more conversation and flirting she guided me through registration process and making my first investment. I felt she was really patient and wanted to make sure I didn't lose my money, she even advised to start with a smaller amount. For this I trusted her much more. All went smoothly and she didn't suddenly disappear after I had parted ways with the money. Success. We kept talking and flirting, and every now and then she would remind me of an upcoming crowdfunding opportunity and show me when she had invested too.
Over a month I had already crowdfunded several thousand pounds into NCOC. This was done by purchasing bitcoin then sending the bitcoin to the wallet address for my account at https://ex.ncacoin.com, then through the same website this bitcoin was exchanged for USDT and the USDT was 'crowdfunded' for NCOC cryptocurrency.
Everything had been leading up to 15th October which was the date she advised for me to sell my NCOC and I would make 2-3x my initial investment which seemed worthwhile but not too unrealistic. 15th October was also the date she planned to fly from South Korea to UK to meet me and spend some days together, as well as introducing me to her uncle who supposedly lives here. But it never happened and I haven't heard from her since, no reply to any of my messages or calls. On 15th October my NCOC listings were frozen so I couldn't sell, it remained like this for a few days later the site https://ex.ncacoin.com went permanently offline and I started seeing posts online about the NCA Coin Exchange being a scam.
I have since been reaching out to other victims who have come forward, it seems the scammer used almost identical methods to lure others from dating apps, gain their trust and trick them into paying money into the website https://ex.ncacoin.com under the false pretense that it was a viable crypto exchange and they were speaking to a real woman from an Asian country that has ties to the victims country of residence.
If you are reading this and you have heard of or invested money through NCA Coin Exchange (htttps://ex.nacoin.com) or the so called cryptocurrency NCOC then please contact me ASAP at [Removed]
