Warning
I had a near miss after being mailed by a military woman. I got those two mails below before i ended the conversation.

From: [email protected]

Ref Number : LR/2011/M209

Attention Mr....

We received your request for leave on behalf of Sergeant Holly Cohen serving with the Royal Army Medical Corps deployed in Afghanistan. The leave request has been initiated.

However, your name has not been been found on our record as spouse or family member, thus we need proof to show that both of you are committed and know each other. Our record shows that Sergeant Holly Cohen has not gone for any leave since her deployment to Afghanistan. We need you to provide us her ISAF number as you did not state this in your request.

The communication is deemed confidential. The leave request is going to incur some charges to cover logistics, communication will be between the NATO, ISAF and British Army. We will confirm and authorize the leave request once the proper information is received.

Attention Mr....

We at the command headquarter received the information materials you sent and it has been deemed appropriate and confirmed that
truly both you Hallgeir Ophaug and Sergeant Holly Cohen are connected. It is important to note that this is a concessionary leave and we only grant permit to officers with genuine reason(s). Also an administrative logistics charge of £500.00(GBP) is to be paid to cover logistics, knowing fully well that communication is between the British Army, ISAF and the United States Army.

From your request you made it cleared that you want the maximum number of 72days, her file has been forwarded to the admin office for further consideration and clearance. However the command headquarter recommends that the payment be made through the western union money transfer and I am happy to announce that the administrative office has recommended that 10weeks leave be approved for Sgt. Holly Cohen, this is due to the number of requests and to manage the number of troops on camp, you can however choose to extend her stay if you wish.

The administrative charge of £500.00 Great Britain Pounds should be sent through western union money transfer to the Logistics Manager in the British Army. Make the payment payable to the details below. Get back to us as soon as possible so as to make the necessary arrangement for her movement to Norway.

Here is the payment details:

Name: Peter Bradley

Address: Command Headquarters,
Whitehall Main Building, London,
Greater London.

Post Code: SW1A 2HB

Country: United Kingdom

Thankyou for posting the story haophaug. If you look at the post viewtopic.php?f=4&t=17004 it will be shown that leave cannot be requested. As for incurring charges for requesting leave is a lie.
Here is another topic using the same name viewtopic.php?f=13&t=17648
And here viewtopic.php?f=13&t=19048

Sad to say that military type scams seem to be on the increase.
