You'll get a cheque for the rental plus the person's moving costs (because my company only sent the one cheque by mistake) Could you be kind enough to cash the cheque and forward the balance to the moving company?
Once you've done this, even though the bank says the cheque has cleared, it bounces and you are liable.
The alternative is that the person's move gets cancelled and could you send back the amount less a little for your trouble. Again, it bounces after you send the money. You lose again.
There are those who collect the cheques as souvenirs, by havig them sent to safe addresses. Visit www.419eater.com if that sort of thing would interest you. Otherwise, like all these scams, just leave them in the bin.
