:oh-joy: So what is the scam they are running? What are they trying to get? Why do you say it's a scam?

This "business" offers high paying project manager jobs, but you have to complete a month of training before you start and get the high paying job. After a week of what seems like normal training via email, you are asked to complete a special task. They give you money and have you buy electronics. It is for your local office that isn't open yet so they say it needs to be mailed to their overseas office instead. But the address does not have KBMI on it (but a strange named company instead). This does sound like a con game - money mule scam - where they are filtering money through you and if the money was illegally obtained, it could create serious problems for you.

After being approached by these fools, I provide no information other than my name, email and a post office box for and address. All files attached in the emails were .PDF files. I did 3 days of there training to see what the scam was.

After the 3rd day of training (Friday) I sent them this email.

Dear Ethan,

I am so excited about this great opportunity with KBMI and eager to learn more about this company.

As I research KBMI based in the state of Maryland and Idaho. There is no business entity listed as KBMI having the legal right to run a business in either state. Also having a web site domain registered under privacy protection in the Ukraine rather than the USA does not show as a legitimate company operating in the US nor in Germany. A German company would not register it’s domain in the Ukraine either. Germany websites are listed with the .de at the end of the url, not in front of it. Yet kbmi-gmbh.de nor kbmi.de are valid sites. kbmi.com is registered to KOL BIOMEDICAL INSTRUMENTS which is a completely different field.

Could you explain why the company is not registered to do business in the USA? Or if there is other information that I am missing could you please provided me with the companies business and tax ID for the states of Maryland and Idaho?

Thank you for your time and attention in this matter as it is greatly appreciated.

- of course they responded and the web site at http://kbmi-gmbh.com is down and showing as under construction. :laugh-s:

They sure did put a lot of effort into this one trying to make this as legitimate looking as possible.
_______________________________________________________________________

So here is what they give you.

First it's a phone interview then they offer you a guaranteed job once you finish the training.

- This is the information they sent:

It is really good to meet you. I am Ethan Gott, HR Dept. of KBMI GmbH.
I was assigned to guide you during one month of pre-employment
training.
I will try to reach you out some time during training process so we
can have a chat. If you have an urgent need to talk before we move
further, do not hesitate to set up a time. I am usually at the office
from 9:00 AM ET till 5:00 PM ET. I will be glad to respond to all your
questions via phone during morning hours before 12 PM ET noon.
It is absolutely essential to arrange for a personal telephone call
since I may be in a meeting and our MD Division is currently
experiencing high volumes of work, this makes it difficult to respond
to all incoming calls or voice messages.
Completing your training is, however, essential, and we wish to make
this experience as pleasant as possible for you, since this training
will determine your suitability for the management position.
Training will also include vital learning in respect of the FT
position, project management structure, and more. You are obligated to
complete the training before being able to go into this on a full-time
basis.
Our training comes in a two-stage process, this includes ten (10)
business case studies, which you will need to access daily, with
holidays and weekends excluded. These cases include important
materials with key learning initiatives, combined with brief tests.
Our tests are used to evaluate your learning, and are key to
completion of your course. All training details and the tools you need
to complete this course are provided to you. Training is free of
charge, and you are guaranteed a position on successful completion of
your training.
Second stage requires your attendance at online webinars. For those
who are not able to access webinars, we upload our training videos on
our website, where they are easily accessible, for your convenience.
We will engage in lively discussions about project management, so it
is important for you to go through all the available learning tools
to discover more about the primary terms of project management in the
organization.
Our webinar schedule will be shared with course participants on the
third week of training.

Key terms for our training program:
- 30-day duration;
- online, remote;
- flexible shift (mornings, afternoons and evenings are acceptable);
- no tuition costs;
- monthly pay ($2K paid by check or direct deposit);
- you can remain with your current employer while completing our
program;
- full time position is guaranteed once all training materials have
been completed successfully.

Kindly review the attached agreement since this provides all necessary
information about the full month of free online training available.
You will need to sign the last page before you will be able to begin
training. Once training has been successfully accomplished, you will
receive an offer for full-time employment. During this period, all
reporting will take place via the MD office, and will be remotely
processed. Our office will be opening soon in your area.

NEXT STEP
1. Go through your Employment Agreement carefully to make sure that
all your details have been correctly captured. If you do find any
errors, please contact us for a revised copy.
2. Be sure to sign the last page of this agreement, which is the only
page which you will need to print. Once signed, then scan the page or
take a photo, which can then be emailed to me as an attachment. Do not
send us a fax as this will not be accepted. We also do not accept any
agreements sent via postal services.
3. Once your signed document has been received via email, we can then
move on to the next phase.

Case has been checked and your grade is A, perfect! Please, find
attached CS #5. I've received an approval this morning for part-time
project we discussed. This project will include 3 major steps.

Step #1: set up corporate bank account as a payment source to one of
your existing credit cards;
Step #2: request fund transfer from corporate bank account;
Step #3: receive corporate funds and purchase the equipment per the
project list and deliver it to corporate office where it will be
stored until your local division opens.

Attached, you may find a manual which explains how to apply for the
payment you will use to purchase the equipment. The example is based
on a JP Morgan Chase banking system as this is the bank of our choice.
No worries, example is pretty generic and will work even if your card
is through another bank. So there is no need to have a Chase bank
card, you can use any available credit card which accepts on-line
payments from checking account.
As you can see you will be working with on-line banking system through
your personal computer which guarantees you full security of
operations. You will be scheduling/managing all transfers yourself
thus there is no need to provide any sort of personal information to
our company. As we start the project, you will receive funds first and
only after that complete the purchase. I'm expecting bank guides and
additional instructions to be available this afternoon. As soon as I
get a confirmation from you that everything is clear and you are ready
to move further, I'll send them over.
Meanwhile, I'd like you to take a look at the manual attached to make
sure everything is clear. We do have manuals for few other banks
available upon request.
Take your time and review the manual attached. If everything works
fine with you, please, submit a request for bank guides and project
list and I will send them to you later today.
Have a good day.

This happen to me last week. I was unaware that it was a scam. It was so real. Thanks for posting. Everything that was said. I did not have a credit card so the small project did not work for me. However I was writing the essay and I thought this is too much. I am glad I researched the company again. I first researched it but this information did not come up. I am glad I researched it again. Thanks for heads up.
