Total scam.
It's a standard approach by check scammers. The English is also consistent with scammer, as is their usual creative math (7 1/2 hours times 3 days a week does not equal 30 hours.)

This confirms check scammer:
Handling and monitoring some of my financial activities

Check scammers typically recruit people for 2 key roles: printing and sending out checks to mules; or cashing checks and forwarding money (these are the mules). (Occasionally there will be a 3rd role, placing bogus ads for the scammer.)

Based on this question,
(5.) Do you have a printer at home?

The scammer is most likely looking for a check printer.

Regardless of which role the scammer is trying to fill, participating in this scam is very much illegal, and could land you in a heap of trouble. Just drop contact with him and ignore him from here on.

Thank you very much, upon emailing him back and asking for specifics of the job, he said I had to dispatch check payments to his clients as well as buy and download software etc. Obviously a scam!
