Hello ,

How are you doing ?

I saw your advert on domesticus and i decided to email you with the details of the accommodation i have available.

Just a little more information about the apartment:

It is located at Langebrug 18, 2311 TL Leiden, Netherlands.

- As you are renting , the rate all inclusive is €500 a month with an initial deposit of €600 .

- The deposit is refundable and you will receive it after vacating the property.

- The rate include basically all necessaries apart from your personal bills.

- The guest policy is flexible, you are free to receive visitors in apartment but i need to be informed in writing if any of your guest will be staying for more than a week.

- There is a once a week maid cleaning service, you are at liberty to choose which day of the week is most soothed for you.

- There is a rental application and contract to be filled. You can pick up a copy at the building office or i can send a soft copy via email alternatively. Do let me know your preference.

- The first month rent and security deposit is required to confirm reservation.

I will now look forward to your thoughts, questions and comments.let me know if you are willing to proceed so in will explain next steps to you.

Best regards,

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union, MoneyGram or bank transfer with a promise that you can have the keys to a property that does not belong to him.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

All the details such as names, addresses, pictures etc. that the scammer uses in order to back up his story, are stolen from elsewhere.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
