CRAIGSLIST RENTAL CHECK SCAMMER

Hello and welcome to Scamwarners NY2010resident,

Thanks for posting and recognizing the scam attempt. I wanted to advise you that some scammers will have US phone numbers. They will use google voice, magic jacks or skype. Stay alert. Along with the check and money order scam they may try a Paypal payment. Paypal payment will be fake yet look real. They will want you to send an overpayment to a third party via Money gram or Western union. Sometimes for unseen reasons they can not travel or move. Once again refund the money back through Western Union or Money Gram.

Here is "[email protected]" email response. Today he/she has chosen the name "Troman Bukky" as his/her alias. They can get really creative huh?

Within hours of posting an ad we received several replies back asking if it was still available. Thanks for your advice on asking for a phone number.

These were filtered and went into my spam folder. But they were sent hours within posting an ad on craigslist.

is a scam id.. please be wary of this.. they are asking to send money through western union, please don't accept any kind of mail/email from this person.. and dont give away details as well

Thanks for your advice regarding phone numbers Bryon. I've been doing searches for phone numbers when they're included in a response and so far the ones that smelled like scammer emails were scammers. My most recent example is from this "US" phone number : (347) 669-4704
