I'll be visiting next 2 months and stop by just to see how well you are taking good care of our property.

You'll be sending us the rent money every month by Green Dot MoneyPak which you can purchase at any Walmart store around you. The Green Dot MoneyPak should be easier for you, just walk into any Walmart store and have the first month and security deposit done, its fast, secure and convenient to get money across.

I'll have the keys and documents sent to you via FEDEX next day air priority. Please kindly confirm your mailing address you want me to address the parcel to. Here are the contents of the package that would be shipped to you.

1) Entrance and the room Keys
2) Certificate of Apartment Occupancy
3) The house documentary file.
4) Payment Receipt
5) Signed Lease Agreement Paper (attached)

Let me know if you understand everything. Kindly fill out the lease duration part, sign the lease agreement, scan and email it back to me. If you have any comment or question, do not hesitate to email me. Most importantly is make sure you take absolute maintenance of the apartment responsibly.

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union or MoneyGram to an escrow company with a promise that he will send the keys through a courier company.

Sounds safe. It's not!
The emails claiming to be from the company are fake.

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

All the details such as names, addresses, pictures etc. that the scammer uses in order to back up his story, are stolen from elsewhere.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

Wow, thank goodness for Google and this website! I almost got scammed by these guys. They even sent nice fake pictures and everything. I think it was a response from a craigslist ad. That price was really too good to be true *sigh*
