Thanks for contacting me about our lovely home, our house is still available for rent we request first month rent and security deposit fee before move in, also you can go check out the house I believe you have address and if you like the house then you can write us back or call me for more details I can be reached at (757) 828-7152 I have recently moved to Alexandria Virginia area and took a job with Rch Cable, I just want you to get notice that the keys are here with me in Alexandria Virginia you can only view the house from the outside for now! If you drive by the house you may see a sign there, you have nothing to worry about it belongs to our previous agent so you have absolutely nothing to worry about and you don't have to call them because they do not have access to the house anymore! I did not entrust the place in the care of any agent or anyone because i want deal directly with the tenant myself because of the last experience i had with my tenant.

I tried to look for an agent that I could believe and trust to give the document & the keys before I left but could not find any as a matter of urgency. And I don't want the place to be misused in my absence that is why I took the keys and documents along with me and renting this place will give you access to the rest of the property and you won' t have no one to share anything with. This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union, MoneyGram or bank transfer with a promise that you can have the keys to a property that does not belong to him.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

All the details such as names, addresses, pictures etc. that the scammer uses in order to back up his story, are stolen from elsewhere.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam.
