Scams offering fake Au Pair positions
#248209 by Dotti Mon Apr 27, 2015 12:04 am
Just to be very clear: Great Aupair is NOT involved in this scam in any way. You are not, and have never been, in contact with the real agency.

1) Anyone can copy information and forms from the real agency's website and pretend that they represent the agency. That is exactly what these scammers have done. ANY email that is really from a representative of the agency will end in @greataupair.com and NOTHING else. No legitimate representative of any au pair agency will use free email address like yahoo, gmail, or hotmail, and if you receive an email from the "agency" at one of these addresses, it is a scam, plain and simple.
2) US law REQUIRES that au pair agencies have a face-to-face interview with all applicants, in-person and in English, before they qualify to be an au pair. If you have not physically met a representative of the agency, then any job offer is a scam.

Hey, I recently fell for this also!! Luckily enough I decided to read this post before sending any money, thank you so much for the warning!!! It was a man called Jakub Senberger and he claimed to live in brooklyn nyc, the representative 'winnie reynolds' does actually exist on the great au pair website and thats what made me think it was legit because checking the website it made me think i was speaking to her!!
None of them have very good english and this is really what made me very doubtful, huge sums of random costs they kept asking for too!
Crazy how much theyve tried to scam people I hope they don't get away with it :=)

Hi Guys I would also like to ask something, I was looking for a host family in Unites states, while I was scanning through facebook pages about Aupair I found a post that she's leaving her host family since she needs to go home to her home country to take care of her mom who is sick.

I added her on facebook and she gave me the email of the host family so what I did was I send the host family and email. The host family replied with the duties and responsibilities even send me the picture of their family. So we exchanged emails and then finally she gave me an email address. She said I should contact this person because she is a specialist in http://www.greataupair.com/ her name is Winnie Reynolds.

So I did send Winnie Reynolds and email and then she replied quickly, her email ends with @usa.com and below she have this on her email;

Winnie's Desk Phone: (972) 836-7414

^^^ Welcome to Scamwarners,

Yes, it is a scammer. @usa.com if a free email address like yahoo, gmail and hotmail.

In order to be an Au pair in the US you will be interviewed in person in your country and not pay any fees for flights, visas or pocket money. You would have to go through authorized provider to be an Au Pair.

If you are contacted by anyone not using the official site, phone number or email address then it is a scam.

Please read here. Also read the links to get familiar.

United States of America

In the USA, all au pairs must go through one of a number of designated sponsor organisations - host families do not directly deal with the arrangement of the au pair's visa/travel etc.

This is the official US Department of State webpage on Au Pair J-1 Visas http://j1visa.state.gov/programs/au-pair.

This page lists the authorised sponsors for the Au Pair program http://j1visa.state.gov/participants/ho ... =Au%20Pair.

If someone claims to be an au pair sponsor and they are not on this list then they are lying.
If they appear on the list, but quote a website that is different to the one on this page - or they use an email address that is not linked to the website listed on this page then they are lying.

Please contacta moferatorstor if you have a question or information about this post.

Please do not tell the scammer he is posted here.
