The phone number associated with that ad 07044300351 is also associated with car sale ads and the sale of kittens all claiming to be located in different parts of the UK.

Hi, just received these emails in response to an ad on Gumtree for a Ducati ST4:

Hello,
I still have the bike for sale and its condition is excellent. All necessary documents available. My current location is Scotland due to my work commitments. If this is going to be a quick sale, I will let it go for £1350 delivered at my costs.
The deal will go through eBay and PayPal.
Thank you

Lucy

Currently in Dundee, Scotland I am offering free delivery and I will agree for a 5-7 days of full inspection period ( after the date you receive the bike ). This means that you have 7 days to inspect the bike for any damages and decide if you want to keep it or not!
Because I will sign eBay's return policy, your money will be insured by them and you will have the option to reject the deal, only if we go through PayPal as well. If this is the case, you will receive a full refund (money back) from PayPal and I will have to take the bike back on my cost!
You can read more about it following the link below:

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/buy/contex ... olicy.html

Let me know if the above return policy is acceptable and if you want to purchase the bike please confirm your PayPal email for further instructions.

Ad on Friday-Ad last week for a Ci. Carioca Fiat Motorhome.
Same kind of advert as above offering Motorhome at bargain price currently in Scotland etc. The Paypal invoice had a help link and the colours, logos and wording looked real.
My partner and I have lost all of our savings.
Phone number used was 07976572749.
Advert has been removed so Friday-ad unable to trace payment details.

welcome and sorry you were scammed, Carol

If you still have the fake PayPal email(s) they sent you, look at the complete headers and copy and paste them here (removing your personal info first), so there is an email address or 2 people can look out for. See the link at the bottom of my post if you don't know how to reveal complete headers.

I hope you have contacted Action Fraud about this, if not please do @ http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/

Carol, thanks for the email address, but the complete headers offer so much more information, and possibly an IP address that can be reverse checked to a geographical location. If you can post the complete header, minus your personal information, that would be great.

There isn't much about the domain you mentioned, just a lot of red flags .

Hi all,I can relate to this I have recently been scammed a lot of money by the email [email protected],it was for a mini cooper s on Gumtree, she stated the same description as everyone else, obviously I thought it was legit, she said pay through PayPal well I've never used PayPal so when the invoice came through to pay to a representative obviously I did because I thought it was legit but it was fake, also when the mmoney went though she said it hadn't and said I needed to pay again so I could of been done for a lot of money,i have lost my savings for a car and now I'm struggling without the money, its outrageous.

She is still active under email * [email protected] *

I got the same thing when replying to an ad on gumtree -
"Hello,
I still have the bike for sale and its condition is excellent. All necessary documents available. My current location is Scotland due to my work If this is going to be a quick sale, I will let it go for £2400 delivered at my costs.
The deal will go through eBay and PayPal.
Thank you

Lucy"

I replied in good faith and I got this:

" I have a local transport company Shiply that will take care of delivery.I will pay the fee and I will agree for a 5-7 days of full inspection period ( after the date you receive the bike ).

Let me know if the above return policy is acceptable and if you want to purchase the bike please confirm your PayPal email for further instructions.

Thankfully I got suspicious when "she" wouldn't provide a contact number or home address, and her email address seemed generated.

I am trying to get the email address linked to the paypal then I'll report it to the scam's office.

Welcome to Scamwarners,

Please do not report the email address for closure. If you do that then your warning will be useless to others. The scammer will take 5 minutes out of his life and create a new email address.

You can however, post the fake Paypal email address. Then stop all contact with the scammer.

Please contacta moferatorstor if you have a question or information about this post.

Please do not tell the scammer he is posted here.

This is still happening. I am emailing the exact same person about a car as we speak.
We would never buy a car without viewing first so we were suspicious straight away but have been playing along with it to see what "Lucy" says. Should I report this to the police?
