Craigslist, Ebay and other online buying/selling scams.

This is a scam that targets merchants and online sellers. The scammer contacts you wanting to purchase goods or services. The request is to pay by credit card. The credit cards are stolen. If you were to continue on with this transaction, the next phase would either involve the scammer needing to cancel and ask for a refund to be paid other than a credit back on the credit card or will overpay and ask for the merchant or seller to forward the balance on to a supposed third party to cover an imaginary cost. The scammer plays all roles in the transaction and picks up the payment.
