- Hi. I'm an avid biker and I plan to make a nationwide ride with my brother, we will buy our motorcycles in San Antonio, Tx; and some buddy just told me about some great deals he found on motoseller.com (He just found, he never bought there). I've been reading about some scams from buyers, not from sellers. ¿Has anyone tumbled upon some nice prices with awkward surprises from this website?

I mean, they have bikes around $3,000 bucks and they look just fine to me. ¿Is there anyway to spot a specific scams? Some pointers or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys, keep the good job.

A sensible warning from the Canadian motoseller site

http://canada.motoseller.com/safety.php

* Never send or wire money to sellers or buyers. This includes never mailing a cheque or using payment services like Bidpay, Western Union or Money Gram to pay for vehicles advertisied on MotoSeller.com.
* When buying or selling, you should meet in-person to see the vehicle and exchange funds.

Non-EU citizens should go here to find out about obtaining a visa to work as an au pair in the UK

Whenever payment is requested by Western Union you're dealing with a scammer

I have been posting ads to motoseller.com for a while. They do a good job of helping to detect fraud by giving the IP address of "buyers". I think they would also be quick to pull ads that they thought were fraudulent. In addition to the good advice given above, I would make sure that the ad contained a local telephone number. Plus, if there is any excuse given for not being able to see the vehicle within 24 hours, I would move on.
