Has anyone had similar offers from someone named Nelson James which they want to purchase a large volume of products and request to have the freight forwarder named: LOGISTIC EXPERT CO. LTD handling the shipping of the items overseas?

Before I post the information, I wanted to just see if someone ran into either one of these names?

I have no doubt it is the same scammer in the thread below. Note the 95 instead of 96 in the email address. Scammers often open several addresses at the same time, simply changing the numbers, because they know some of their email addresses will inevitably be closed.

Scammers often run several different types of scams at the same time. Please post the emails you received, as having the script posted can also help victims to avoid being scammed.

Final Email that Red Flagged Us:

If i could make payment to the freight company directly i will wouldn't bother you ..The freight quote they gave you has a policy saying they accept payment from pickup location only. And it there company policy..So now i want to make all payment to you via my Credit card and as soon as the fund clear into your account you can just make payment to them via Wire Transfer for them to come in for the pickup.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Regard
Nelson James

ENDING of this SCAM!
As soon as we heard the words of "Wire Transfer", it through out a red flag to us. Plus the fact that they said they do not accept credit card payments at this time. I am sorry but if you are an international freight company charging that much, credit card payment should always be accepted.

My question is on this scam is if this Nelson guy was going to pay us in full via credit card, and then have us wire transfer money to someone else, where did the money come from to pay it in the first place? A stolen card?

Just curious of the process of how these scammers are working now a days.

Your guess is correct. The scammer has bought stolen (usually phished) credit card numbers, and he is trying to use fake orders such as this one to convert those credit card numbers into cash for him.

Large retailers usually have stronger verification processes and/or shipping policies, so he approaches small to medium businesses, under the assumption that they are more likely to be unaware of the scam.
