Craigslist Scams - Spoofed PayPal emails

This is a good one after figuring out that this was a spoof the buyer sent me this email:

Am deaf,Hearing impaired. I will like you to know that payment has
been made and it has been deducted from my account,The money has been
temporary placed on hold.You will have to go and ship the cannon and
once you ship the cannon do email paypal the shipment receipt so they
can activate money into your account upon confirmation..Let me know as
soon as you have
send the cannon.

I then just told her I am only doing cash transactions.. no more responses!

This was in reply to a Montreal, Quebec craigslist ad. The item advertised was a broken item (advertised for free).

Strange Karen Muttey on craigslist.

Replied to my posting for a car I posted today:

' Is your Posting still available for sale???????????? '

I thought this was strange because they responded in this way not too long after I posted the ad. I figured they would know i'd be hard pressed to sell a car that quickly.

So I responded to Karen Muttey and said yes it is available and then I get another quick response

I thought this seemed strange so I googled the name and I found this thread.

Put motor vehicle on Gumtree yesterday ans within a few hours received emails from two interested buyers, both emails sounded very similar, asking about PayPal and one offering more then asking price! Googled their email addresses and what do you know their listed here as fraudulant . The following are the emails used: [email protected] and [email protected].
