Craigslist, Ebay and other online buying/selling scams.

I just listed my sofa for sale on Craigs List. When I received the first email from "Tasha" I wondered if this was a scammer due to the broken English. When I received the second email I knew for sure it was a scammer. Just for my own enjoyment, I replied to the second email with the name and address of the director of the FBI. Hahaha, I hope they send the fake check to him. :D

First email from Tasha <[email protected]>

Is it available, I will to see more picture if you have?

Basically got the exact same message about a dining room table that I was selling. Actually 2 of the three items that I posted got an immediate scam response. In this case I told "Tasha" to send the check to the Parkland Police Chief.
--------------------
Thanks for the prompt response am quite satisfied with the condition .Am very much interested and i am really okay with the item and i will love to make an instant purchase,so please do withdraw the advert from Craigslist and considered it SOLD to me,I will add $40 to the purchase price, for you to hold it for me.I would have loved to come take a look myself but i am a very busy but i'm okay with the item. I will be paying you by money order. It will take 2 -3 days for the payment to get to you, it will be sent via courier service due to the distance. You don't need to bother your self with the shipment okay,i will take careof that,so i will need you to provide me with the following information to facilitate the mailing of the money order, so that I can have my assistant get the money order ready.

1. Full Name to write on the money order
2. Address where payment will be sent to not P.O BOX (b'cos my courier service does not deliver to p.o box)
3. City
4. State
5. Zip Code
6. Home or cell Phone Number

Once again ,I will like you to know that you will not be responsible for shipping i will have my mover come over for the pick up as soon as you have cashed the money order.

Welcome to ScamWarners belgavox and thank you for posting this information. I understand what you are trying to do by having the check sent to the police. The problem is they will have no idea why it came to them and will not have any way to trace it. It will just be an irritant to them.

The best thing to do is tell the scammer the item is sold and post their information here so others can find it.

Thank you for joining us!

Graigs list is full of scams, If I were you I would not even bother using such site, I am not sure this site is using any type of protection for its users, they should implement some kind of one-time ID verification to all the users before allowing them to post, I doubt you will find scammers at that point!

just spotted another thing.....
the sort code remains the same even if you move...if you open your account at X branch...your sort code will remain even if you change your address...you don;t know anything....
BTW the sort code is London sort code ....the other placed you mentioned is where Barclays has it main ``branch`` all the sort codes will give you that address....on that site you checked .....
anyway i'm waisting my time with you.
