Hi, new here, but found this site when trying to figure out how to get the word out about a scammer I just got an email from. I found the [email protected] scammer thread and the email I received is nearly identical.

The first email was from a different address and seemingly mundane:

to xpmvq-35286045.
Hello Seller, i read through your posted item and am interested in the deal. What's your final price. Happy New Year............

Thanks

I replied that the listed price was the final price and then a couple of days later I got this response from a different email address, [email protected]

to me
Hello,

I really appreciate your response to my email.I am very sorry for
not getting back to you on time,my computer crash,I just fix it up, and
I want you to consider it sold, pls do withdraw the advert from Craig
to avoid disturbance. And I want you to know that i will be paying
via bank certified check,How much is total price of the item? I will
like you to provide me with the following. information to
facilitate the mailing of the check to you.

1.....Full name to write on the check
2.....Full Physical address to post the check(Not p.o box)
3.....City, State and Zip Code
4.....Home & Cell Phone to contact you
5.....Total amount for the item:

*** Note that the payment will be shipped to your address

via USPS NEXT
DAY SERVICE and I will like you to know that you will not be
responsible for shipping i will have my mover come over as soon as
you have cashed the check and verify it from your bank** Thanks Please
get back to me asap. Also i will like you to remove the items form the
sales board Thanks.

The first red flag was the mailing of a certified money order and the second was the mover and the third was the fact that this was suspiciously like a form letter, no mention of the actual item they were interested in purchasing, just a request for an inappropriate amount of information. I'm selling antique decorative wrought iron gates.

Anyway, glad this site exists and hopefully someone will find it when googling youngrobert48 and won't get scammed.
