As it's a favourite ploy of scammers to assure victims that their payment will be protected by the eBay Buyer Protection Scheme, any sellers that assure you it will, is sign enough that you're dealing with a scammer.

Exclusions from eBay Buyer Protection

The eBay Buyer Protection Policy does not cover services and some kinds of goods;........

Real Estate
Vehicles (including, without limitation, motor vehicles, motorcycles, caravans, aircraft and boats, tractors and ride-on lawnmowers)


I haven't included the full list of exclusions. The scammers relies on you not checking up on their lies, as not all people like small print they way I do. :D

CAR ADVERTS - If a car seller mentions escrow - he's scamming you Never ever for any reason pay anything until you have seen and inspected the vehicle
