Craigslist, Ebay and other online buying/selling scams.

I didn't know this went on until I saw an ad on Gumtree offering to buy ebay accounts for £200.

First of all, doing so violates the ebay User Agreement

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/user-agreement.html

While using eBay sites, services, applications, and tools, you will not:

- circumvent any eBay policy or determinations about your account status such as temporary or indefinite suspensions or other account holds, limitations or restrictions;

- transfer by any manner any eBay application or your eBay account (including Feedback) and user ID to another party without our consent;

The risks to the buyer probably aren't that great as such an account would only be of use to a criminal and he has been given the sellerer's ID to do whatever he pleases in their name on ebay.

It could be pornography, fraud, theft, drugs, terrorism or pornography and it will all be carried out in the name of whoever sold their account. The seller has effectively sold their identity and the buyer will carry on whatever business he runs on the seller's tab at their risk.

It's a very bad idea. I'll post a copy of the screen scan when I can.

The buyer isn't safe either. The seller may be able to worm his way back into his account, leaving the buyer empty handed. Best to not get involved on either side of such a shady transaction.
