Contacted by "Mandi" started text messenging for sale of auto. Message:

"Is the listed ad still available ? Text me on 443-863-9183 with the final price

Thanks
Mandi"

Gave my lowest price and they reply via text (grammar errors included) :

"i am interested in buying it but i don't have time to come have a look due to my job transfer. But i would be making payment via PayPal?when it clears, then my transporter can come over for pick it up.
Thanks.
Mandi"

That's when I Google "would like making payment via paypal? when it clears" and confirmed my suspicions about a scam.

Thank you for this site.

Thanks Mike

This is one of the most common phrases to find particular with Craigslist based scammers. Often scammers will share or steal the scripts that other scammers use, with spelling mistakes included. I know this may seem like a paranoid thing to do but, if at any point you feel a bit of doubt regarding if a buyer is genuine or scammer, copy and paste a few lines of an email they send you into Google. It can mean the difference between a proper sale and a scammer phishing. THIS WARNING IS FOR ANYBODY :!:
