If you have an item up for sale on an ad site the scammers will often use free online bulk SMS services to contact as many buyers as they can trying to hook a few victims. There's no reason for a genuine buyer to use their services. The message will include an e-mail address for you to contact them and you won't be able to SMS back to the buyer as bulk services don't allow it.

Anyone using a bulk SMS service to contact you isn't a genuine buyer.
