Definite SCAM!

1. Let's look at the contact information and the email address this came from:
Embassy Office
Email: [email protected]
Contact person, Mr Robert Bush
Phone:+229- 98-7102-19

NO embassy office would use a FREE hotmail address! Neither would the US Department of State. We may be broke over here, but we aren't that broke.

Mr Robert Bush? There is no such person at the US Embassy in Benin. (One can only assume they mean the embassy in Benin from the phone number; they never clearly identify where they are located.)

The phone number is not connected to the US Embassy in Benin. http://cotonou.usembassy.gov/new_gen_info.html The correct phone number is (229) 21-30-06-50

2. Who is this email from?
Dr. Moore Frazer,
Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs
FROM UNITED STATE OF AMERICA

The Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs is Johnnie Carson. http://www.state.gov/r/pa/ei/biog/123210.htm

And we are the United States of America. We actually have 50 states, not just one!

3. Poor English throughout the email.
All the walfare of United States Citizen is my concern.

Walfare? And it would be citizens, plural, not singular.
Am here to take the protocol of all our citizens to not be cheated by Africans.

What does that even mean??

4. Note the email was addressed to just the first name, no last name. I am pretty certain if there was something for me somewhere, they would know my full name.

5. Note how there is no explanation of what is waiting for me. Just a consignment box. What bank was suppose to deliver it to me. Nothing is very clear. Just a lot of mumbo-jumbo.

6. And the classic demand for payment for some fees to be sent via Western Union or Money Gram. Both are untraceable and can be picked up anywhere, by anyone. There are no guarantees who will get the money.

7. And if you still don't believe, just google a small part of the email:

Note that your consignment box has been arrived in US embassy and waiting to receive clearance certificate before the gate pass is given. Mean while you are advice to reconfirm the below information upon contacting us to avoid delivery to wrong person.

And look at the results: Clicky

Just another SCAM! Delete and forget.
