Funny Paypal Scam

That's a pretty common PayPal scam. If you sent the scammer your PayPal email address you would get some real looking but very fake PayPal emails telling you the payment has been made to you but you need to send the tracking number or you need to send money via Western Union to a "shipper". Paypal does not operate this way the emails were spoofed and no money was sent. The scammer is hoping you do not catch this and makes off with your item or the money sent to the "shipper".

Can you please post the scammers email address as well? This may help others avoid the scammer.

I responded that I would only take cash offers or a cashiers check from a credited bank and have not had a response as of yet.. Thanks to this site, I was not a victim of the Paypal scam on Craigslist. You can also tell by the wording that was used that this is person who is not fluent in English... there are many people from Nigeria that are trying to scam on Craigslist... I believe that this is one of them...

I wanted to point out buyers offering checks, cashier checks or money orders of any kind on Craigslist are scammers. This scam is probably even more prevelant than the PayPal scams on CL. The checks are written from stollen or comprimised accounts. The scammer sends you a check for more than the amount than the item ask you to cash the checks and wire the over amount. Due to strict laws banks will typically initially cash the checks but later when the bank finds the check to be fake the seller/victim has to repay all the money including the money sent to the scammer.

Only sell items on Craigslist in person and dealing with cash.
