Like I said on my brief message to you, I am Mr. Mark Woods, Business Investment Manager for Barclays Capital United Kingdom, I am contacting you independently and no one is informed of this communication. In 2000 Mr. Mieczyk came to our Bank, Barclays Capital and had series of talk with the Investment Banking Division. He informed us that he had a financial portfolio of £12.650 Million GB Pound, which he wished to have us invest on his behalf.
Based on my advice, we invested the money, and made attractive margins for our first months of operation, the profit and interest stood at this point at over £14 Million GB Pound. In mid 2002, he instructed that the principal sum (£12.650 Million) be liquidated because he needed to make an urgent investment requiring cash payments in the Isle of Man.
We got in touch with a specialist bank in Isle of Man the Coutts Investment Bank who agreed to receive this money for a fee and make cash available to Mr. Mieczyk through their Isle of Man Branch. However Coutts Investment Bank got in touch with us last year that this money has not been claimed. Upon further enquiries we found out that Mieczyk has passed on February 2007 (DECEASED) which means he died intestate. He has no next of kin named in any of the paper work held on his file.
What I am proposing is that, since I have exclusive access to his file, you will be made the beneficiary of these funds. Barclays Capital, where I work, will contact you, informing you that money has been willed to you upon verification, which will be the details I will make available to my bank (Barclays Capital), my bank (Barclays Capital) will instruct Coutts Investment Bank to make payments to you.
You do not have to have known him. I know this might be a bit heavy for you but please trust me on this. For all your troubles I propose that we split the money in half. In the banking circle this happens every time. The other option is that the money will revert back to the government coffers.
I would want us to keep communication strictly by email, due to telephone tapping but occasionally we can also speak on phone if the need arises.
Please, note I am a family man; I have a wife and two children. I am sending you this mail not without a measure of fear as to the consequences, but I know within me that nothing ventured is nothing gained and that success and riches never come easy or on a platter of gold. This is the one truth I have learnt from my private banking clients. Do not betray my confidence. If we can be of one accord, we should act swiftly on this.

I must say that I have enormous respect for you considering the manner in which I have made contact with you. We never know when life is about to shower us with good fortune, however we spend so much time wishing that life does. In everything one does with another there must be a meeting of minds. Without us both seeing and assessing the situation through the same lenses there cannot and will never be success or progress. Please this is very important and your total commitment is what is desired. I will be speaking to you only and when necessary as this is a precaution. Most communication will be done via email.
At this stage I am sure you have many questions you want to ask me, I understand as this is only normal. We are going to take this matter on a step-by-step basis. However something that I must point out to you at this stage is that there is no wrong on your part. At the end of the day it is the Coutts Investment Bank Isle of Man Branch (CIB) that will be contacting you to inform you that money has been left behind for you. You are not contacting the bank or anybody so you are doing absolutely nothing wrong or taking any risk. The only person who could have disputed this is long gone. I am honestly pleased with your swift response and act of great maturity shown to me on this proposal, also to say thanks for the copy of passport you sent, but I would want you to resend the ID as it was not clear at all, no information can be seen on it.
Please make a very clear scan copy of it and send it again, because the lawyer will only take your names correctly from your id to avoid any typographic errors.
I am very glad to have a much matured minded partner like you to be doing this business with. Please at all time I want you to believe and know that this is a very serious issue. I am starting the process by getting a lawyer to prepare documents in your names. I have contacted one that gave me an appointment for tomorrow evening.
What he will be doing is that he has to prepare documents that will name you as the sole beneficiary of late Mr. Miecyk’s estate regarding the said amount. This is what I will include in the file as I submit it to the board at my bank.
When this in file and submission is made to the board, meeting will then be held and board of my bank will now determine how payment will be made.
They will then instruct the Coutts Investment Bank Isle of Man Branch (CIB) to commence payment and that is when the Coutts Investment Bank (CIB) will be getting in touch with you. Please note that as I said earlier the Coutts Investment Bank will be getting in touch with you without the knowledge of communication between us. Please never mention that we have communicated.
Also at this stage I will be relying on you to update me daily as access to file and procedures will be out of my hand. I will be guiding you all the way to make sure there are no delays whatsoever.
