Dear. Friend

Like I said on my brief message to you, I am Mr. Mark Woods, Business Investment Manager for Barclays Capital United Kingdom, I am contacting you independently and no one is informed of this communication. In 2000 Mr. Mieczyk came to our Bank, Barclays Capital and had series of talk with the Investment Banking Division. He informed us that he had a financial portfolio of £12.650 Million GB Pound, which he wished to have us invest on his behalf.
Based on my advice, we invested the money, and made attractive margins for our first months of operation, the profit and interest stood at this point at over £14 Million GB Pound. In mid 2002, he instructed that the principal sum (£12.650 Million) be liquidated because he needed to make an urgent investment requiring cash payments in the Isle of Man.
We got in touch with a specialist bank in Isle of Man the Coutts Investment Bank who agreed to receive this money for a fee and make cash available to Mr. Mieczyk through their Isle of Man Branch. However Coutts Investment Bank got in touch with us last year that this money has not been claimed. Upon further enquiries we found out that Mieczyk has passed on February 2007 (DECEASED) which means he died intestate. He has no next of kin named in any of the paper work held on his file.
What I am proposing is that, since I have exclusive access to his file, you will be made the beneficiary of these funds. Barclays Capital, where I work, will contact you, informing you that money has been willed to you upon verification, which will be the details I will make available to my bank (Barclays Capital), my bank (Barclays Capital) will instruct Coutts Investment Bank to make payments to you.
You do not have to have known him. I know this might be a bit heavy for you but please trust me on this. For all your troubles I propose that we split the money in half. In the banking circle this happens every time. The other option is that the money will revert back to the government coffers.
I would want us to keep communication strictly by email, due to telephone tapping but occasionally we can also speak on phone if the need arises.
Please, note I am a family man; I have a wife and two children. I am sending you this mail not without a measure of fear as to the consequences, but I know within me that nothing ventured is nothing gained and that success and riches never come easy or on a platter of gold. This is the one truth I have learnt from my private banking clients. Do not betray my confidence. If we can be of one accord, we should act swiftly on this.
I await your honest response.
Please note: if you are not happy with this communication please delete it and my apologies to you, but should you wish to continue, reply as soon as possible.
I await your response.

Yours Sincerely
Mr. Woods

Dear XXX
I must say that I have enormous respect for you considering the manner in which I have made contact with you. We never know when life is about to shower us with good fortune, however we spend so much time wishing that life does. The uniqueness of your name has made it possible for us to come together and share some decent money. Let’s move forward and making good use of this life opportunity.
In everything one does with another there must be a meeting of minds. Without us both seeing and assessing the situation through the same lenses there cannot and will never be success or progress. So thoroughness is what is needed here. I would need you to obey my every instruction and do exactly as I say. You must let me direct this project for us to have success. This is none negotiable. It is when there is no leadership and no meeting of minds that there are problems.
Everything is going to be done in sequence. I will imagine that the whole process should take about 4-5 weeks before the money will be transferred to your account. At this stage I have exclusive access to the files of late Mr. Miecyk. I will be instructing a solicitor in United Kingdom to prepare all the relevant documents relating to this matter in your name. This will then be put in my file and presented to my bank. It will then be assessed and approved and then authorization given to the Coutts Investment Bank Isle of Man Branch to make payment to you. Please this is very important and your total commitment is what is desired. I will be speaking to you only and when necessary as this is a precaution. Most communication will be done via email.
At this stage I am sure you have many questions you want to ask me, I understand as this is only normal. We are going to take this matter on a step-by-step basis. However something that I must point out to you at this stage is that there is no wrong on your part. At the end of the day it is the Coutts Investment Bank Isle of Man Branch (CIB) that will be contacting you to inform you that money has been left behind for you. You are not contacting the bank or anybody so you are doing absolutely nothing wrong or taking any risk. The only person who could have disputed this is long gone. You must understand why there must be SERIOUS CONFIDENTIALITY about this whole process. Coutts Investment Bank Isle of Man Branch (CIB) is a specialist bank, which deals with high net worth individuals and giant corporations. I have my contact there to make sure that nothing goes wrong. As soon as Barclays Capital Plc United Kingdom (my bank) has gone through all formalities with you, they will instruct Coutts Investment Bank Isle of Man Branch (CIB) to make payments to you.
Please send me the following, as I need a reconfirmation for my file. As soon as I have made the necessary amendments to the relevant documentation you will then become the legal beneficiary to late Miecyk's estate, and the (CIB) will be getting in touch with you.
FULL NAMES.
ADDRESS.
TELEPHONE.
FAX.
OCCUPATION.
COPY OF YOUR ID.
My friend please let us be positive and show discretion as we both make one of the most fruitful steps of our lives. I will be putting great trust in you and you as well in me, and as long as we work closely together success is definitely ours. Thank you for your positive response.
But 1st I have to make all documents to put you in the file as the entitled beneficiary of the Miecyk’s funds and for this I share the money with you 50%/50% less all expenses I spend to put your name in the documents as entitled beneficiary of Mr. Miecyk money.
I wait your response.
Regards
Mark Woods

Dear. XXX

I am honestly pleased with your swift response and act of great maturity shown to me on this proposal, also to say thanks for the copy of passport you sent, but I would want you to resend the ID as it was not clear at all, no information can be seen on it.
Please make a very clear scan copy of it and send it again, because the lawyer will only take your names correctly from your id to avoid any typographic errors.
I am very glad to have a much matured minded partner like you to be doing this business with. Please at all time I want you to believe and know that this is a very serious issue. I am starting the process by getting a lawyer to prepare documents in your names. I have contacted one that gave me an appointment for tomorrow evening.
What he will be doing is that he has to prepare documents that will name you as the sole beneficiary of late Mr. Miecyk’s estate regarding the said amount. This is what I will include in the file as I submit it to the board at my bank.
When this in file and submission is made to the board, meeting will then be held and board of my bank will now determine how payment will be made.
They will then instruct the Coutts Investment Bank Isle of Man Branch (CIB) to commence payment and that is when the Coutts Investment Bank (CIB) will be getting in touch with you. Please note that as I said earlier the Coutts Investment Bank will be getting in touch with you without the knowledge of communication between us. Please never mention that we have communicated.
Also at this stage I will be relying on you to update me daily as access to file and procedures will be out of my hand. I will be guiding you all the way to make sure there are no delays whatsoever.
There is an English saying that goes like this "Over long distance you learn about the strength of horse and over time you learn about character of friend" My friend please know that I am follow my faith (mind) on this, I have no choice but to trusting you explicitly.
Please know that my whole life, family and hope is on this.
When the money is paid to you, I am trusting that everything will be as we have plan. I know
it is still all too sudden for you, my friend believe and know that our lives are about to change. Now that we have agreed to do this business together and are now partners I can now reveal whom I am to you on my next email, I will send to you, my passport copy and recent pictures of me and my family so that we can have a honest and mutual trust on ourselves.
I will get back to you as soon as I finish my meeting with the solicitor (Lawyer) tomorrow evening.
But I will prefer you contact me if need be on my private phone which is the mobile phone, because any call received on my desk phone is recorded, but should you wish to contact me during my official hours please call me on my official desk telephone and ask me to call you back please and I will do so.
But you can call me on my cell phone any time after 5.30pm Monday to Friday and any time at weekends.
I await your response and please keep my information very private due to my job.

Dear XXX

Thanks for your email, but I must refresh your mind that this is a transaction that I know well and we are trying to work together to avoid errors and mistakes.
We do not have to be rude to one another, if you are not comfortable sending your id, we may have to put an end to the transaction, because it involve huge amount of money, and whatever we doing to pull this transaction through, has to be done well without any mistake that may cause me and families any problem.
Whether you would like to continue this transaction with me or not, I will send to you a copy of my (id) copy of my international passport, for you to know me better and see clearly what I wanted from you.

Best regards
Mark Woods
