Just a quick FYI - it seems that they have moved on to Freelancer.com, where I had an encounter with them. Same M.O., same "interview" questions, verbatim. Same promised salary and benefits (including a car and a house!). I repeatedly asked for them to email me an employment agreement (if they were legit, the email would come from the Merrill Lynch email address), and was repeatedly ignored. In this case, they actually went so far as to impersonate an actual ML employee - not just an employee, but the vice president of the company, no less! I kept trying to trip them up, but they stuck to their guns. The "interview" even contained questions that seemed like something a real financial institution would ask - very technical, detailed questions. But I knew for sure it was a scam when they asked for my A/S/L and bank info. Scammers are getting smarter, so we need to be vigilant in what we disclose online.

Be careful, and remember - a large financial institution will not hire you on the spot via instant messaging without even doing a background/credit check. If it seems too good to be true... well, you know how that goes. Who has ever heard of a data entry clerk making 70K a year, plus a bonus car AND a house, anyway??? Not cool, these people. Not cool at all.

This is EXACTLY the same script they used for my "interview," but my "interviewer" had the testicular fortitude to claim that he was Michael Law - the VICE PRESIDENT of Merrill Lynch! Even using Mr. Law's picture as his/her own on the Yahoo profile. (I googled Michael Law & Merrill Lynch, and there were tons of hits all proving that Mr. Law does, in fact, work for ML).

I was contacted by "Michael Law" on Freelancer about the supposed data entry position, all the while, in the back of my head, wondering why a Fortune 100 company would be using a freelancing website to hire anyone. Anyway...

I bailed as soon as they asked me what bank I use. "You know what, I don't think this is the right job for me. Thank you, anyway." *disconnect from Yahoo, delete Yahoo Messenger account, send report and screenshots to Freelancer.com to report the scam being perpetrated on their site.*

i had the same encounter with someone claiming they were from Genzyme. They have gone as far as creating a linkedin page. Same questions.. what a waste of time.

The number 646-543-7729 is a voip connection.

A Google search shows it coming up with a large number of job offers under the name of many different companies.

The example here is rather shocking on the Hire Heroes USA website

Thank you so much for posting the texts of your dialogue with these scammers! I was able to identify the punks by pasting the dialogue from them to google and it hit your page. Saved me a lot of headache and embarrassment...

Yeah they're still going with their scam. I applied to a receptionist position for Merill Lynch. I received an email from an Elizabeth Gibbs offering me the job. I had to go on google hangout to speak with Arthur Klein, in which he told me the job was for Mount Sinai Health Systems. He told me he would send a check and wanted me on there at 8am tomorrow. I called him out and told him I found forums where people were scammed and guess what? HE BLOCKED ME. Lol. Not tricking this girl. 8)

So not sure if the subject is active, but I receive what I believe to be an attempt for a scam. Now I say attempt cuz all they got from me are my personal information, phone number, and email address. They are now moved to the Whatsup app whit this phone number +1 (641) 860-4560, which is registered in Iowa. I was given the same mamo that I read here someone posted five years ago. Now I know they can't use any of my info cuz I live in a small country in Europe, and they didn't get my bank information, even if they did its all empty ( no money ). I was approached by a woman on FB, saying that she have a Data entry job open and that should I contact Mr. Ridley on the same number. After the so-called interview, I passed whit 80% and after a while they sad that my county of a resident was the problem and they even offered me to move to the States, when I asked about the status of my application they sad we will be hearing again in 2 days but nothing. So I did little research and found this forum.
Like I said not sure if the subject is still active but I wanted to give everyone a heads up that the scam still exists.
