Need Help about this electronic online store.

Hi, just new to this site. I'm Angie from PI, I need help regarding this issue. I recently found this site, http://www.e-shopperinc.com and as such, i want to make a transaction or order from this company, however, i feel the risk that this might be another Electronic store scam. checking the domain site on http://whois.domaintools.com/e-shopperinc.com


the site had just been recently created. upon checking the about us page. here's their info on how to contact them.

i know that phone numbers starting in +44702 are scam numbers, the site says location is in Hayward, CA, upon checking the primary number +1510-751-4937 at 411.com, it is an unpublished landline located in CA. what's more, is that they have a toll free number. i do have a Lexis Nexis user, however, i have no access to it for the next 3days as i won't be at work. can someone help me figure out whether this is a scam site? as the site requires registration, i did sign up for it and it seems as if its legit since you can add items to your cart and proceed to checkout with your order. So, i was thinking, if this is a scam site, why is the site so extravagant in comparison with the other electronic scam sites. that is why my mind is going on circles whether i should proceed to place an order or not. Thanks very much in advance for your help.

Located at Malaysia. however another ip locator site, http://www.ip2location.com/free.asp shows it as

You're right that the site does look rather polished compared to most electronics scam sites. That said, I've taken a look at it and have found several things that would make me steer clear.

The registrant is someone from Malaysia, as you noted. That doesn't make sense for a company claiming to be in California.

A Copyscape search showed me that some of the text was shared with two sites that are no longer online (so I can't investigate them further to see if they were exact copies). Here are results from Copyscape, note the phone numbers:

You can do a Google search for both of those sites and then click on the Cached version to see the last snapshot Google has of them. Additionally, a Google search shows many people complaining about having been scammed by them, including a thread here at ScamWarners. +4470 phone numbers are redirect numbers. They show a UK prefix but are redirected to any phone, anywhere in the world. We see them abused by scammers constantly. There's no reason why a legit business in California would be using one of those numbers.

They offer an SMS option for which you don't need to check out or register. The image including the sms number looks like it has been photoshopped around the number portion and I am not able to find a listing for that phone number with a whitepages.com reverse lookup.

Lastly, they accept Western Union as a payment option.

I advise you not to order anything from this site.

If any website claims that it represents a company then it should NEVER show Western Union as a method of payment, because a company is not legally capable of receiving money using this method.

There is nothing wrong with Western Union. I hasten to add, but Western Union is a payment method for use by individuals, not companies. It's the clearest sign that you're not dealing with a company, but a private individual who does not hesitate to lie to you.

Do you want to buy goods from a private individual that you know is lying to you ?

A company website bearing a Western Union logo is the surest sign you could have that it's a fake.

They've changed the name and address and phone numbers but the websites are otherwise copies - down to set up, backgrounds and photos. What are the chances of two different companies coming up with two carbon copy websites ?

If you Google any of the phone numbers you'll find that they've appeared on other websites offering electronic goods for sale, under different names, and the websites are now dead.

I can confirm this. I got scammed by this eShopper Inc recently and I filed a dispute via PayPal:

This is utterly crap. PAY ATTENTION to the bold words "E-sell". Just as described by others in the threads above. They forgot to change it to "eShopper Inc". Isn't clear enough?

Notice that the scammer is suggesting that you can close the dispute to get your money faster, which more accurately means: never get any money at all.

Hey Guys keep away from this site, it is a scam site!!! personally I have experienced very recent!

The rule is to be very cautious about buying any goods online, especially electronics.

If you're looking to get something cheap then you're going to have to avoid a massive number of scam deals because that's the area that scammers concentrate on.

Forum and mail spammers are scammers without exception and you might as well flush your money away as pay for any goods they offer. Scammers have websites too, and some of them even look authentic with the 'shopping cart' you'd expect from a proper company.

A little effort will usually quickly expose them as fraudsters if you know what to look for, but if you keep your eyes open and pay attention they will give themselves away.

If they have a website but don't mail from the domain address, then don't do business with them (it usually means that they're expecting to have the site shut down and don't want to lose their victims when that happens).

Never make payment by Western Union or to the account of a private individual. Most of these scammers pretend that they are companies, often large ones, and if that is true then they'd have a bank account in the name of the company. If they don't, then they are lying to you, and paying money to a liar means you won't get the goods you are ordering.

Remember - scammers always offer the best deals because they never intend to send you anything so price isn't the main criteria to use in selecting who to buys goods from. Check they aren't scammers first.

Yes Nvexpecttobscam, when we highlight how scams can be spotted it's unavoidable that it will to some extent help scammers to improve their frauds. We try to limit what we divulge but we are mainly here to help people avoid scams and scammers.

Sometimes scammers will use the bank accounts of associates or people who have been duped into believing they are involved in a real business transaction, but it will almost inevitably be a personal account, not a business one which you would expect if you are dealing with an online company.

Most of these scam electronics company web pages boast how they are large and well established organisations and, if that were so, they'd operate using a bank account in their name, and it would be illegal for them to receive money in to a personal account.

I'm sorry that you were scammed. Did you loose any money to these scammers? If you have send money to a bank account, it might be possible to retrieve your money. But i think Gomerpyle can tell you more about the possibillities in that. But in most cases you're money is gone, and maybe already spend by the scammer.

It's unlikely you'll get your money back Nvexpecttobscam but if you have the address of the website and details of the account you sent money to, then we can see what we can find out. The least we can do is have our site killers shut the site down, but they'll open up again under a different name soon enough.

On their site's "about" page, they claim to have an office in Canada:
