Room for Rent and other rental scams

How are you doing today? Thanks for the interest in my House, my house is still very much available for rent quite and safe. I only need someone that can take good care of the house at my absence because right now i just secured a contract at Missouri of which i will not be back until after 3 years and am here with the house keys and documents.

I want you to know that before we left the state,we never had an intention of renting this home until we got down here as my wife advised me to as we are voluntary workers who works at ADVOCATE INTERNATIONAL as we decided to use the monthly rent as our major source of income to cater for my wife and family,so should in case we had an intention of renting it we would have put down someone to handle it on our behalf and also due to our previous experiences with Realtor that is why we decided not to have a third party for the rental,as Realtor tries to inflate prices of the home and Realtor wont be able to handle it professionally and the occupant(s) may not be able to reason along..

If you notice, you will discovered that the price we are offering is far below standard price, this is enough for you to know we aren't after the rental fee but the absolute perfect care of the property as everyone deserves a home to live both the rich and the poor as there are three important things in life which are FOOD,SHELTER AND CLOTHING and all this are expected to come with ease as we are true and beloved Christian Family..

NB: You can drive by and check the neighborhood and get back to me for further discussion, any sign post will be removed once i get any responsible tenant so you ignore the sign post cause i have stop dealing and contacting the Realtor for too much fees i pay. It is available for a long term lease as we will be here for 3 years and also intend buying a new home on our return....

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union, MoneyGram or bank transfer with a promise that you can have the keys to a property that does not belong to him.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

All the details such as names, addresses, pictures etc. that the scammer uses in order to back up his story, are stolen from elsewhere.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
